College baseball season leads up to the College World Series, where all the top teams from the season compete for the top title. 64 teams face each other in the first round of the NCAA Division I Baseball Championship (known as regionals.) Winners of regionals advance to super regionals (the second round) in which 16 teams play a best-of-three series elimination. The final eight teams that remain from the super regionals will proceed to the College World Series.
Ole Miss won the 2022 College World Series against Oklahoma under the guidance of coach Mike Bianco. They will not participate in this year’s tournament as they did not receive a bid. Southern California are the team with the most wins having won 12 titles. Texas and LSU are tied second with 6 wins each. The most dominant conference is the Pac-12 with their teams winning 18 titles.
The 2020 College World Series was cancelled because of COVID-19 pandemic.
