Longhorn Network, also known as LHN, is based in Texas. It was launched in 2011 airing 20 different sports played by the Texas Longhorns athletics department, with original and historical content.

The University of Texas collaborated with ESPN to launch their own channel, which features all UT sports, weekly coaches’ shows, live press conferences, pre- and postgame analysis with Texas GameDay, and highlights academic and campus activities.

What Is Longhorn Network

The Longhorn Network is a national sports channel owned by The University of Texas at Austin, ESPN, and Learfield. It launched in 2011 and focuses on the University of Texas at Austin’s varsity sports teams. The network holds the third-tier media rights to the Longhorns and features events from 20 different sports, as well as original and historical programming. It also includes academic and cultural content from the UT Austin campus.

Channel Programming

The Longhorn Network launched in 2011 with live coverage of women’s volleyball and football games. It expanded to include coverage of UTSA Roadrunners football games. The network’s Operations department managed over 200 live events during the 2011-12 school year.
