The Dominican Republic did not qualify for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Oceania; this is still a dream for soccer fans in the Caribbean island nation, but there is plenty of hope as well as enthusiasm for the tournament.
In the past, soccer broadcasts were kind of subdued in the Dominican Republic because the sport was not as popular as baseball and basketball; but last year, you were able watch all 64 matches of Qatar 2022 on television or streaming platforms whether you are a local or visitor. And you will be able to watch the 2023 tournament as well. Let’s go through your options.

FIFA 2023 TV Channels in the Dominican Republic
Starting with Qatar 2022, FIFA granted broadcasting rights in DR to a partnership between Multimedios El Caribe and Pío Deportes Radio TV. Between these two broadcasters, all 64 matches of the Cup will be played simultaneously, which means that they will have television, streaming, and radio broadcasts. There are two terrestrial TV channels that will feature matches:
* CDN Canal 37
* CDN Deportes
In the Dominican Republic, Cadena de Noticias started broadcasting over UHF channel 37 in 1996, and the number has stuck with viewers across cable, satellite, and digital over-the-air (OTA) signals. CDN Deportes is a sister television station of CDN Canal 37, and it is focused on sports. While the CDN 37 number does not change, the same cannot be said about CDB Deportes, which is listed under different channel numbers depending on the cable or satellite provider; to this effect, you will have to check your provider’s programming guide.
By virtue of being an OTA station, CDN 37 is free to view, but it will not carry all Cup matches; some will broadcast on CDN Deportes, which means that you will need a cable or satellite TV subscription if you wish to watch every single match.
If you are wondering about DIRECTV, please note that it does not work natively in the Dominican Republic. And it no longer has broadcasting rights for FIFA events.
Streaming the 2023 Tournament in the Dominican Republic
Your national options to stream Cup matches in DR are:
- Pio Deportes
- WindTVO
Neither CDN or Pio Deportes offer mobile apps for streaming, but you can always watch live broadcasts by visiting PioDeportes.com, which is a browser-based experience that works better on desktop and laptop computers. Essentially, Pío Deportes will provide a live video feed of CDN 37 and CDN Deportes during select matches.
You can also stream CDN 37 and CDN Deportes (channel 8) if you are a WindTVO subscriber in DR. You will need to install the Wind app on your device and authenticate it with the WindTVO cable box. Please note that the WindTVO app requires broadband internet access that you must provide.
Devices that Let You Stream Matches in the Dominican Republic
There is no app for Pio Deportes; as long as you have a broadband connection and a modern web browser, you should be fine because the website is optimized for all screen sizes.
The WindTVO app can be installed from the Apple App Store, Google Play, Amazon, and even the Huawei App Gallery. If you are a DIRECTV Go subscriber, the app is available for iOS and Android devices.

Enjoy Watching the Women’s World Cup in the Dominican Republic
As previously mentioned, soccer is starting to take in DR, but the fervor that has been brewing in recent years has been nothing short of amazing.
