I’ve been following the Premier League since the early days and Everton’s impressive run in the top flight dates back to 1951. That’s more than 70 years of uninterrupted top-tier football, making it one of the longest-serving clubs in English football history. Looking ahead to the 2024-25 season, I plan to catch every match of this historic club.
In a hurry? Like all Premier League teams, Everton matches can all be found on NBC Sports. These services provide access:

Everton, despite going through difficult times the last few seasons, is one of the most historic clubs in English soccer, and its 2024-25 season is a historic one in its own right as it’ll be the last that the Toffees will play home matches at Goodison Park, where they’ve been based since 1892.
Do you want to watch those special Goodison Park games as well as the team’s away-from-home matches without cable? We’ve got you covered with all of the information that you need.
Everton’s games are broadcast and streamed through a variety of outlets throughout the world. Also of note is that any individual country is usually home to one media entity showing Everton’s Premier League fixtures, a different one broadcasting and streaming its FA Cup matches, and so on.
NBC owns the broadcasting rights for Premier League games in the US, so that should be your focus for a considerable majority of the team’s matches if you’re a Toffees fan who’s based here. Meanwhile, Everton’s club fixtures will be shown through other avenues as ESPN+ livestreams FA Cup matches while CBS distributes EFL Cup broadcasts.
The streaming home of Premier League matches is Peacock Premium ($10.99/month) . FA Cup matches are on ESPN+ ($11.99/month). And UECA Champions League matches are on Paramount+ ($7.99/month). You will also need a live TV streaming service:
All these services come with cloud DVR storage for recording matches you can’t watch live and streaming on multiple devices simultaneously.
In terms of streaming devices, all the services support Amazon Fire TV, Android mobile devices, Android TV-based smart TVs, Apple TV, Chromecast, iOS devices (eg, iPhone), Roku (sticks and TVs), Samsung smart TVs, and web browsers. Other devices are widely (but not universally supported like LG and Vizio smart TVs and gaming systems like the Xbox One and PlayStation.
Wherever you are in the world, you’ll need to secure access to different streams. These depend on your country and which competition that match is a part of. Also keep in mind that even if the same family of networks is showing a game in different nations, such is the case for Sky Sport and Viaplay, you may need a new subscription if you were to travel between them.
Are you in Liverpool while you’re reading this? Then, locally produced streams provided by Sky Sports, TNT Sports, and Amazon Prime will have you covered for the team’s Premier League matches. Of course, that’s not counting the blacked-out ones being played at 3:00 pm on Saturdays. As for cup fixtures, FA Cup matches are carried by the BBC and ITV while EFL Cup games are covered by Sky Sports.
Although Everton’s Premier League fixtures are usually the club’s focus, it takes part in numerous competitions. The potential for European play is there although that’s not happening for its 2024-25 season, so the only non-league games for the Toffees this season are in the domestic cups.
Everton may have finished in the bottom half of the Premier League table the last three seasons, but it has quite a history to be proud of. Perhaps most impressively, it’s one of only three sides to have been founding members of both the Football League, in 1888-89, and the Premier League, in 1992-93. (The other two are Aston Villa and Blackburn Rovers.)
Meanwhile, if the team finishes in the bottom three spots in the Premier League table, it’ll get relegated to the second-tier Championship, something that it’s come close to doing recently but which hasn’t happened.
The last time that Everton was relegated was as a result of its 1950-51 season, when it finished bottom (22nd) in the First Division table. After getting promoted back up in 1954, the Toffees have remained in England’s top league ever since. In fact, its 2024-25 season is Everton’s 122nd season of 126 in the country’s top tier. (The Toffees also spent their 1930-31 campaign in the Second Division.)
Although Everton has never won the Premier League, it did take home the First Division’s winning trophy on nine occasions, most recently in 1986-87.
Every season, all Premier League clubs play EFL and FA Cup matches, the former generally in the first half of the campaign and the latter, the more prestigious of the two, in the second. So, Everton will play a minimum of two cup matches this campaign in addition to its 38 Premier League fixtures.
Everton has won the FA Cup five times, most recently in 1994-95, and the EFL Cup twice, last claiming that hardware in 1983-84.
The Toffees have participated in a European competition in 17 of its seasons. The last time that occurred was in 2017-18, when the team was part of the Europa League group stage.
The only time that Everton played Champions League fixtures was in 2005-06 although those were in the third qualifying round; the club didn’t advance beyond that point. However, appearances in the European Cup, the predecessor of the Champions League, took place in 1963-64, 1966-67, and 1970-71. The best showing there was a quarterfinal appearance in 1970-71.
Everton does have some European hardware as the club claimed the 1984-85 European Cup Winners’ Cup, defeating Austria’s Rapid Wien, 3-1, in the final.
Everton was founded in 1878 as St. Domingo’s, named after a local church, before being renamed as Everton, its home district in Liverpool, a year later. It actually played at Anfield, Liverpool’s current home facility, from 1884-92 before disagreements caused the club to leave, and its future Merseyside derby rival was formed to take its place there.
Anfield and Goodison Park are less than a mile apart, on opposite ends of Stanley Park.
So much of the focus in 2024-25 for Toffees fans is on it being the last season of Goodison Park, a place that’s been the club’s home for as long as any of them can remember. The final Premier League fixture on the ground is scheduled to be played on May 18 with Southampton serving as the opponent.
The last possible cup fixture here would be an FA Cup quarterfinal the weekend of March 29. However, note that if Everton advances past that point and ultimately plays in the FA Cup final, scheduled for May 17, the date for the match with Southampton would be moved.
The team’s new home, starting with the 2025-26 season, will be Everton Stadium, which is being built on the waterfront, 2 miles to the southwest of Goodison Park.
Everton’s coming off of a season in which it finished 15th in the Premier League and advanced to the quarterfinals of the EFL Cup and the fourth round of the FA Cup.
On the pitch, Toffees fans are interested in what manager Sean Dyche can get out of his side in his second full season in charge at the club. Most prognosticators are predicting that Everton will finish in the bottom half of the table and that the focus will likely be on ensuring that the final season at Goodison Park doesn’t end in the club’s third relegation from England’s top tier.
Among the newcomers to the club this year are midfielders Iliman Ndiaye and Jesper Lindstrom while returners who are expected to contribute significantly include strikers Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Youssef Chermiti, the latter once he’s healthy, and English national team goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
