I’ve been a Peacock subscriber for several months. It’s NBC’s streaming service and I’ve noticed it’s always improving. Here I’ll explain how to get the most out of Peacock’s free and paid plans.

Streaming Plans

Peacock is NBCUniversal’s streaming service. It’s similar to CBS’s Paramount+ in providing a way to stream most of its own content. But unlike that service, it has a free tier:

Base (Free): A large collection of shows and movies that are ad-supported.
Premium ($7.99/month): Peacock’s full library of shows, movies, and events. This includes access to full coverage of sporting events like English Premier League soccer, Olympics, and WWE shows and events.
Premium Plus ($13.99/month): This plan is the same as Peacock Premium but without ads. You can also download some programming for offline viewing.

Peacock’s Content

To get a feel for the Peacock library, I recommend that you signup for the free plan and look at what’s offered. There’s no obligation to purchase.

When you see a white feather on purple background in the upper-left-hand corner of a show’s description, it requires a paid subscription. If you’re seeing a lot of white feathers on content you want to watch, it’s a good indication that you might get value from a paid subscription.

You’ll also get next-day and next-week access to current shows like Saturday Night Live, Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, and Late Night With Seth Meyers.

Movies

Peacock will be more than just TV shows. Many of the most popular movie franchises of all time will find their home on the new NBC streaming service. This includes original movies from Universal Pictures and DreamWorks Animation. It also provides box office releases from both Universal Pictures and Focus Features.

Sports

Peacock’s sports coverage is what makes a lot of people get the Premium plan. As mentioned before, a lot of EPL matches appear only on this service.

And the coverage of WWE is even better. The WWE Network was shut down and moved to Peacock TV. This not only includes all the shows. It includes every live event, including the Big Five events that you would normally have to get via PPV.

Peacock is also the place to watch the Olympics. The entire event will be streamed there. And after they are over, Peacock will continue to provide coverage for Olympic-style sports and qualifying events.

But there is much more including pro and NCAA golf (including the US Open), auto racing, rugby, cycling, and more.
