I no longer need cable to watch the Suns play, as there are several streaming services that let me watch NBA games online instead.
In a hurry? Watch the Phoenix Suns play with one of these streaming services by the time the next game comes:
Fubo
Known for its outstanding sports coverage, Fubo’s 150+ live TV channels provide a broad selection that appeals to most people. Fubo allows you to try out its service with a free trial.
DIRECTV STREAM
The king of RSNs, this is the streaming service for MLB, NBA, and NHL fans with its Choice Plan. New customers get a 5-day free trial with DIRECTV STREAM.
If you can’t watch your favorite sports because of your location, get ExpressVPN to access the content you deserve.
Table Of Contents
The Phoenix Suns have been around since the late 1960s. They’ve been in Phoenix, Arizona since their very first game, making them the only team in the Pacific Division not to be based in California.
The team has eight Division titles and three Conference titles under their belt, and are the second-highest winning team who’ve never won the NBA Finals. While it’s been a while since the Suns have had a big win, fans are still hopeful for their first championship.
The sections below offer more details on streaming the NBA season online and the services you can use to get the channels that offer Suns games without cable.
How Can I Watch the Suns Games Without a TV Provider?
If you want to watch the NBA without cable, you’re going to need access to some regional sports networks (RSNs). While the NBA Playoffs air on nationwide channels, much of the regular season play happens on these local, regional channels.
For the Phoenix Suns, that used to mean you needed Bally Sports Arizona until last year, which was only available with Fubo or DIRECTV STREAM. Now though, Suns games are broadcast on KTVK, which is available from the same streaming platforms.
Fans unable to receive KTVK because they’re outside its broadcast region (known as “out-of-market”), can sign up for NBA League Pass through Fubo or DIRECTV STREAM instead. This will air all the Suns’ local games to US fans outside of Arizona.
A number of Suns games will be available nationwide as well. To watch these games, you’ll need NBA TV, ABC, ESPN, and TNT.
This season, 37 games will be broadcast on national channels:
- ABC – 4 games.
- ESPN – 11 games.
- NBA TV – 12 games.
- TNT – 10 games.
See our out-of-market viewing guide for how to watch local games outside of Arizona.
Fans can also watch local Suns games for free by picking up Arizona’s Family on over-the-air channels with a digital antenna.
What Streaming Service Is the Suns Game On?
Watching the Phoenix Suns without cable shouldn’t be a problem, although it did get complicated in 2023. That’s when Bally Sports Arizona stopped broadcasting. But you can still watch the Suns games with the same streaming services.
Fubo and DIRECTV STREAM both offer KTVK (Arizona’s Family Channel 3), where local fans can watch the vast majority of Suns games. (Fubo offers KPHE — Arizona’s Family Sports — as well, which also airs local Suns games.)
But if you’re happy just watching the nationally televised games, Sling TV is a great, low-cost choice for ABC, ESPN, NBA TV, and TNT.
There are a few other services that offer some or all of these channels as well (explained below).
After you decide which streaming option you want, you can sign up to that service(s). From there, it’s time to watch some TV.
When you’re ready to start streaming, you can watch on a variety of devices. Options include Roku, Chromecast, smart TVs, mobile devices, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, and other devices.
