You can follow all of NCAA sports with Fubo. Try it free.

I rarely find College of Charleston Cougars games on regular TV channels, as they primarily appear on streaming services.

In a hurry? To watch all the Cougars basketball games, you will need to sign up for a collection of streaming services. If you had to pick just one, it would be FloHoops. But to watch all the games that appear on live TV channels, you will need one of these streaming services:

  • Fubo: The best streaming service for international sports also provides 150+ well-selected channels. Fubo allows you to try out its service with a free trial.
  • DIRECTV STREAM: Get a great channel lineup with the best selection of RSNs in the industry. A 5-day free trial is now available for DIRECTV STREAM.
  • Hulu + Live TV: This total entertainment streaming service provides a great on-demand selection and all the essential live TV channels with a 3-day free trial.

If you can’t watch your favorite sports because of your location, get ExpressVPN to access the content you deserve.

Note for viewing from : streaming platforms like Fubo or Sling TV limit access to US viewers, but combining your existing subscription with a VPN enables streaming from anywhere in the world.

ExpressVPN is my #1 choice because it’s easy to set up, super reliable, and works perfectly with these streaming services. You get access to US content through their servers in 25+ US cities, plus 3 free months and a 30-day refund if you’re not happy.

You’ll have access to local platforms as if you were in the country, as well as access to services like BBC iPlayer as if you were in the UK, CBC Gem as if you were in Canada, plus hundreds more worldwide.

The College of Charleston Cougars are unlikely to be mistaken for college basketball royalty. However, in 2012, the school was ranked the best in the state of South Carolina over the previous 50 years by ESPN. Furthermore, the school has a strong student and alumni base that passionately roots for both the men’s and women’s squads each season.

Let’s take a closer look at how you can watch Cougars basketball, what you should know about the program’s history and what to know about the current year’s squad.

Charleston Cougars March Madness

The teams taking part in this year’s March Madness have been announced.

Both the Cougars men’s and women’s teams are currently riding high in the CAA and have had a good season. But only the men’s team made the final cut for the tournament after a poor showing for the women in the CAA tournament:

For the games that appear on regular TV, you will need a live TV streaming service. All of these are good:

  • Fubo (formerly FuboTV): Get this sports-first streaming service featuring 150+ channels from $79.99/month. (Fubo review)
  • Sling TV: This highly customizable service starts at $45.99/month and works great combined with Paramount+. (Sling TV review) (March Madness coverage and schedule)
  • DIRECTV STREAM: Get all the channels you need to watch the regular and post-season for as little as $86.99/month. (DIRECTV STREAM review)
  • Hulu + Live TV: Provides 100+ live channels in addition to ESPN+, which streams some Charlston games for $82.99/month. (Hulu Live review)
  • YouTube TV: Just $82.99/month for over 100 channels.

All these services include a cloud DVR. And they all allow streaming on multiple devices at once.

You can also use pretty much any streaming device you own: Amazon Fire TV, Android Mobile, Android TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, iOS (eg, iPhone), Roku, and web browsers. Many of the services also support a number of smart TVs and gaming systems.

College of Charleston Cougars Basketball

The Cougars men’s and women’s programs have been members of the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) since the 2013-14 season. Prior to that, they were both members of the Southern Conference (SoCon) from 1999 to 2013 and were members of the Atlantic Sun (ASUN) for six years prior to making that move.

Each team plays its home games at TD Arena, which seats about 5,100 fans. The Citadel is widely seen as the Cougars’ main rival as the schools have played each other since 1901.

College of Charleston Cougars Men’s Basketball

The Charleston men’s basketball team made its most recent trip to the NCAA tournament in 2023. The Cougars have one NCAA tournament win, and that victory came against Maryland in the first round of the 1997 event.

However, the team has won four games in five appearances at the National Invitational Tournament (NIT) and two wins in three tries at the College Basketball Invitational (CBI). Furthermore, the school did win the NAIA national title in 1983.

Pat Kelsey is in his third year as head coach of the Cougars. This is after a highly successful 9-year stint at Winthrop University. The team is led by Frankie Policelli, Reyne Smith (points leader), Ben Burnham, CJ Fulton (assists leader), James Scott (blocked shots leader), Ante Brzovic (rebounds leader), Bryce Butler, Khalil London, Jordan Crawford, and Kobe Rodgers (steals leader).

This year, the team has been close to and sometimes in the top-25 NCAA rankings.

Our Choice

After exploring various streaming options, I found that FloHoops is the go-to for Charleston Cougars fans. It offers live coverage of most men’s games and nearly all women’s games, ensuring I don’t miss a beat. Unlike other services, FloHoops focuses exclusively on basketball, providing a tailored experience with reliable streaming quality. While ESPN+ carries some games, its selection is limited, and accessing it requires a Hulu + Live TV subscription. FloHoops stands out with its user-friendly interface and broad device compatibility, making it a hassle-free choice. For those looking to catch every Cougars game without the complexity of multiple subscriptions, FloHoops is the clear winner.
