Hulu with Live TV
Hulu with Live TV’s starting package starts with 50+ channels, one of which is ESPN. This platform also has great coverage of local sports and offers regional sports networks in most areas. Sling TV is a budget friendly option for accessing ESPN. Starting at $30 a month you can access ESPN as well as other channels like CNN, Comedy Central, Food Network, etc. While Sling TV is lighter on the wallet, there are fewer channels and less coverage of local sports compared to other options. Can you watch ESPN on Fire TV for free?
All of the services mentioned above offer a free trial that will give you access to ESPN for free during the trial period. Once the trial is over, you will have to pay the monthly subscription fee. However, all of these services are contract free and can be cancelled whenever you wish.
You could also, technically, watch a limited version of ESPN on Fire TV or your Firestick for free using the ESPN app. However, this app does require you to log in using credentials for one of the streaming platforms mentioned above or through a participating high speed Internet or TV provider. You may also be able to access ESPN for free through this app if you are a US student connected to an on-campus network or US military personnel using an on-base military network.
If you are using the ESPN app, you may need to re authenticate from time to time. In order to do this you simply do the following:
- Go to the ESPN app on your Fire TV or Firestick
- Click on the settings gear in the upper right hand corner
- Under account information click on TV provider
- You’ll be instructed to go to ESPN.com/activate on your computer or mobile device
- Once you’re there enter the authentication code in your Fire TV or Firestick
- Select your provider and log in
- Give it a moment and you should again have access
