It also offers a significant amount of other sports programming that is of interest to many, including some Saint Louis Billikens men’s basketball games.

Streaming Extras

Regardless of how you get FanDuel Sports Midwest, you can watch on most streaming devices. This includes all the most popular devices like Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, and Roku. And you can watch on iOS and Android mobile devices in addition to Android TV-based smart TVs. You can watch on the Xbox One with Fubo and the FanDuel Sports Network app.

You can stream on unlimited devices with DIRECTV STREAM, 10 on Fubo, and 2 on FanDuel Sports.

FanDuel does not offer a DVR but both Fubo and DIRECTV STREAM do and they provide unlimited storage.

Alternatives to FanDuel Sports Midwest

You can get access to some Cardinals and Blues games with other streaming services. Hulu + Live TV ($82.99/month) and Sling TV ($40.00/month) will allow you to watch nationally broadcast games including all of the playoffs.

Note that all Billikens men’s basketball Atlantic 10 Conference and postseason games will be broadcast on other channels, so you will not be missing any of that team’s most important contests by not having FanDuel Sports Midwest.

Out-of-Market Viewing Options

If you’re outside the respective blackout regions for the Cardinals and Blues, you can watch out-of-market broadcasts of those teams’ games through specialty streaming services:

FanDuel Sports Midwest Coverage Area

FanDuel Sports Midwest’s coverage area radiates outward from St Louis but mostly north. It is available throughout two states:

  • Kansas
  • Missouri

It extends into the following states:

  • Nebraska (South)
  • Iowa (South)
  • Illinois (South)
  • Indiana (Southwest)

Those located outside of this region should note that nearby FanDuel Sports affiliates sometimes broadcast games played by teams featured on FanDuel Sports Midwest.

What Is FanDuel Sports Midwest?

FanDuel Sports Midwest is a regional sports network that broadcasts mostly local programming.

FanDuel Sports Midwest Teams Coverage

Baseball and hockey fans based in St Louis who cheer for the local major league teams in those sports regularly turn on FanDuel Sports Midwest to watch live broadcasts of the Cardinals and Blues. Those franchises are unquestionably the focus of this channel, and the vast majority of games played by them are shown on it.

In addition, college sports fans head to FanDuel Sports Midwest to watch Saint Louis Billikens men’s basketball contests a few times a season. During the team’s 2023-24 campaign, nine of its games were shown on that channel. The most high-profile match-up of those occurred on Jan 3 of that season, when Loyola Chicago paid a visit.

It is not just St Louis-based teams that are shown on FanDuel Sports Midwest. Since the metropolitan area is without an NBA franchise, that channel broadcasts some Indiana Pacers games. It also airs a variety of non-Billikens college sports events, locally focused on the nearby Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Cougars and on Missouri Valley Conference schools, which include Missouri State and Southern Illinois.

FanDuel Sports Midwest also carries hours of programming unrelated to those sports and those teams, including shows that feature fishing, beach volleyball, golf, tennis, softball, poker, and mixed martial arts.

FanDuel Sports Midwest Extra

Sometimes, the St Louis Cardinals and St Louis Blues are playing at the same time, which is most likely to occur in April. As a result, one of those contests can be pushed to FanDuel Sports Midwest Extra.

That extra channel will also often feature live broadcasts of out-of-area teams, such as the Indiana Pacers.

Our Choice

FanDuel Sports Midwest is an essential channel for serious fans of the St Louis Cardinals or St Louis Blues.

My top choice for streaming FanDuel Sports Midwest is Fubo. It provides a low-cost way to watch both the local and national game broadcasts for these two teams. Fubo allows you to try out its service with a free trial.

FAQs

Can I subscribe directly to FanDuel Sports Midwest?

As of the start of the 2022 MLB regular season, you can get FanDuel Sports Midwest through the FanDuel Sports Network streaming service. It costs $19.99/mo or $189.99/yr. Note that the usual restrictions apply. You must live inside the FanDuel Sports Midwest broadcast area. It does not include any channels outside of the FanDuel Sports channels.

What happened to Fox Sports Midwest?

On March 31, 2021, the day before the St Louis Cardinals opened their campaign that season with an away contest versus the Cincinnati Reds, Fox Sports Midwest became Bally Sports Midwest. That was a move that had been more than three years in the making.

In 2017, the Walt Disney Company announced that it had acquired it and the rest of the Fox Sports affiliates. However, the US Justice Department later determined that this would result in an unfair monopoly and forced them to be sold elsewhere. Sinclair Broadcasting Group made the ensuing purchase in 2019 and brought Bally’s Corporation on board a year later.

In 2024, FanDuel became a sponsor and the network was named FanDuel Sports Network

Can I get FanDuel Sports Midwest through Hulu?

Hulu + Live TV used to offer all the FanDuel Sports channels including FanDuel Sports Midwest, but costs caused it to drop them all. It does offer a few other regional sports networks but none in the St Louis area. The closest is NBC Sports Chicago, home of the Chicago White Sox (MLB), Chicago Bulls (NBA), and Chicago Blackhawks (NHL).

Does YouTube TV offer FanDuel Sports Midwest?

YouTube TV stopped offering the FanDuel Sports channels at the same time as Hulu + Live TV. The two streaming services tend to focus on the same customer base and are generally pretty similar. YouTube TV does provide good sports coverage. And it offers the same NBC Sports Chicago channel as Hulu. To get FanDuel Sports Midwest, sign up with DIRECTV STREAM.

  • I am old and have a hard time understanding why I live in Kentucky and they block me seeing the cardinals games.
If I pay FuBo will they show all the games and just shred does the line for streaming go?

    • In general, if you live in western Kentucky, games will probably be on FanDuel Sports Network South (the new name of Bally Sports South). Check if you get that channel or are able to see the games there.

If you live elsewhere, and if the Cardinals are blacked out in your location, even streaming services like Fubo may not be able to show them directly. However, you have two options:

      1) Use MLB.TV or
      2) Use a VPN which has a server in St. Louis (NordVPN has one) and then watch the Cards through Fubo.

I know this kind of setup may be tricky for you to do. Maybe a friend or family member could help you get it set up.

  • I am 88 and still trying to watch the St. Louis Cardinals games on TV. Why aren’t they
available. I used to go to Cardinals games in the fifties and I really miss them!

    • Where are you located? In general, I’d recommend checking the Bally Sports affiliate network in your area.

  • Not going to pay $100 per month to watch Cards games. We will listen on the radio, like back in the good ol’ days of Jack Buck.

    • I hear you! All the RSNs exist to cover their specific sports teams. Beyond that, it’s a lot of dreck (and paid advertisements). But I do think any channel that airs 150+ Cardinals games is worth a lot!

  • I am in northeast Oklahoma and was watching St. Louis Cardinals games with the UZZU app. I tried to to pay my monthly fee for June and was told it was no longer available. I currently have You Tube TV. What is the most cost effective option to watch Cardinal games ? Hulu ??? I am retired and a veteran on social security. Have been a Cardinal fan all my life and this is the first time I have been unable to watch the games. Thanks for the info.

    • I’m sorry to hear about Uzzu. You could try contacting customer support because it sounds more like a glitch.

Since you live outside the Cardinal’s broadcast area, you can sign-up for MLB.TV. Right now, they are offering the rest of the season for $24.99. Or just $19.99 for the rest of the season if you only want the Cardinals.

  • So at this time , 05-14-22 There is no ballys stand alone app a person can purchase the local cardinal’s Baseball games

    • Even now with the limited Bally Sports+ launch, you can’t. But even when it does become available, it will still be a monthly subscription. I haven’t heard of individual games being available.

  • I think that Cardinal TV should be available for little to nothing, so everyone rich and POOR can watch Saint Louis Cardinal baseball. I am thinking of boycotting the Cardinals for this reason! Make Saint Louis Cardinals available for everyone! Greedy greedy greedy!!!

  • Like Idiots, YouTubeTV dropped Fox Sports Midwest on Feb 29th. And Now NOW dropped the ROKU App so I can’t enroll with them to see my Cardinals and Blues. WHAT is WRONG with these companies? DISH can’t work out an agreement with Fox since last fall! (and apparently isn’t even trying anymore!) HOW can Fox Sports survive without VIEWERS for its apparently overpriced services?? They’ve also been dropped by other streaming providers. Insane! Right now it’s Hulu or nobody! So much for Streaming being a “Solution” to cable and Satellite high prices!
