St Louis Cardinals Games Without Cable: Different and Cheaper Ways to Watch This Year

You can now stream every Cardinals game. It’s a bit complicated but not difficult. I have the details below.

In a hurry? Depending on location, Cardinals fans can watch almost all of their games with one of these services:

  • Fubo: Get 150+ channels including FanDuel Sports Midwest. Fubo allows you to try out its service with a free trial.
  • DIRECTV STREAM: Comes with 125+ in its Choice Package with FanDuel Sports Midwest and all the channels you need for the playoffs. A 5-day free trial is now available for DIRECTV STREAM.
  • MLB.TV: Fans outside Missouri can watch almost every Cardinals game with this out-of-market package.

Whether it’s a good season or a bad one, Cardinal fans always show up for their team. That could mean watching the team play home games at Busch Stadium, following them out on the road, or making sure to catch the game on TV. Any way you look at it, the fans are always with their team.

Channels to Watch St Louis Cardinals

In the St Louis area, your local games will air on FanDuel Sports Midwest during the regular season. MLB.TV provides the same for fans outside the Cardinal’s media market.

Cardinals games also sometimes appear on national TV. These games can be found on MLB Network, ESPN, FS1, FOX, and TBS.

Sometimes games stream on ESPN+, but these games will also air on other channels. Some games stream exclusively on Apple TV+, so if you want to see every Cardinals game of the season, you will need to sign up with the service. But it is normally just a handful of games.

Everything You Need to Know About the St Louis Cardinals

The St Louis Cardinals are one of baseball’s most storied franchises, having claimed 11 World Series titles, the most of any National League club. They only trail the New York Yankees’ 27 in all of Major League Baseball.

It is also one of MLB’s oldest as it first played in the American Association in 1882 before quickly dominating that league, securing four successive pennants from 1885 to 88. However, it would not be until 1926 for the club to win another pennant — its first in the NL. That was also St Louis’ initial World Series title. The Cardinals defeated the Yankees in seven games that October.

The franchise’s other World Series titles were won in 1931, 1934, 1942, 1944, 1946, 1964, 1967, 1982, 2006, and 2011.

The Cardinals have had plenty of success since 2000, recording a winning record every season except for two (2007, 2023) and making the playoffs 16 times over the 24 seasons since. NL pennants were won in 2004, 2006, 2011, and 2013, bringing that total for the club to 19.

In 2024, the Cardinals had a winning season and came in second in the Central Division but it wasn’t enough to get a Wild Card spot.

Our Choice

St Louis Cardinals fans and baseball enthusiasts generally can watch Cardinals games on FanDuel Sports Midwest and MLB.TV depending on their location. My top pick for Cardinals fans is Fubo because it provides both FanDuel Sports Midwest and MLB.TV as an add-on. Fubo allows you to try out its service with a free trial.

  • Hello. I have been a cardinal fan for 40+ years. I am 78 years old on a fixed income. I live in Troy missouri. I have had dish cable TV but they did not carry the cardinals. For 2 years now I have been without seeing the Cardinals which is such great pastime for me and I really miss seeing the games.. I have recently changed to Roku streaming TV and I would like to know the cheapest way of getting the Cardinals games, as many as possible, at my home. I don’t understand the technology of how this all works. Can you tell me which option would be the best for me, to be able to see all the games of the Cardinals as possible and the cheapest service that I could get the Cardinals on. I am not that interested in seeing other teams play, just the cardinals. Can you help me please.

    • I believe the cheapest option would be FanDuel Sports Network streaming service at $19.99/month. It apparently just added Cardinals games. To access it on your Roku, open the Roku Channel Store, scroll down, select FanDuel Sports Network Channel, and add it.

  • Bally Sports Midwest is selfish! I am using Hulu Live and I can’t use Bally Sports because of livestreaming. Bally Sports encouraged me to use cable. It costs more than live streaming. What’s the difference NFL are using ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox Sports ESPN. I can’t use MLB Baseball becuase its blackout due to livestreaming……….. it’s selfish! Very disappointed. Any recommendation for me to watch STL Cardinals – how?

    • I understand your frustration. The way that MLB, NBA, and NHL are broadcast is crazy! And if Bally Sports is the RSN for your favorite team, you have only one options: DIRECTV STREAM. At $89.99/mo, it’s a good deal given everything else you get. Just the same: $89.99/mo is a lot of money and out of the question for many. If you live outside the area, MLB.TV is a great option.

On the other hand, if the Cardinals make the playoffs (and they are looking pretty good at the moment), those games will all be on national channels.
