Broadcasting of Utah Jazz games has changed a lot over the past couple of years. But fear not! I have all the information you need below.
In a hurry? You can watch Jazz games on Utah independent TV station KJZZ 14 for those in the area and NBA League Pass for others.
- Fubo: Get 150+ channels including KJZZ 14 for $91.98/month. Fubo allows you to try out its service with a free trial.
- DIRECTV STREAM: Choice Package includes KJZZ in its 125+-channel plan for $114.99/month. A 5-day free trial is now available for DIRECTV STREAM.
- NBA League Pass: The NBA’s out-of-market service is perfect for Jazz fans located outside the area. Try it with a free trial.
The name Utah Jazz, might not make a lot of sense, as Utah isn’t the jazziest place in the world. Of course, when you realize that the team got their start in New Orleans, it becomes clear why their name is what it is.
Many loyal fans followed the team from one location to the other. If you watch the bulk of your games on TV, not much has changed. The one significant difference is that you can watch Utah Jazz games online without cable.
What Channels Offer the Utah Jazz Games?
NBA teams mainly offer a bulk of their season through regional sports channels. The regional channel for the Utah Jazz used to be AT&T SportsNet Rocky Mountain. But the channel is no longer in service and the local games will be broadcast on KJZZ-14. During the 2024-25 season, it aired 81 of the Jazz’s 82 games.
Out-of-market fans have other options. In particular, you can watch all the KJZZ-broadcast games with NBA League Pass.
That said, you will be able to pick up some nationwide games on ESPN, TNT, ABC, and NBA TV too. For the 2024-25 season, the Jazz are scheduled to be on 7 nationally broadcast games:
- ABC: 0 games
- ESPN: 1 game
- NBA TV: 5 games
- TNT: 1 game
All of these games except for the one on TNT will be simulcast on KJZZ and NBA League Pass.
How to Stream Utah Jazz Games
Right now, only two streaming services offer KJZZ: Fubo and DIRECTV STREAM. Jazz fans in the local area could also set up a digital antenna and watch for free. Those outside the area should check out NBA League Pass.
Streaming Features
Fubo and DIRECTV STREAM include a DVR with unlimited storage. NBA League Pass does not include a DVR but it does allow you to watch replays of all games.
DIRECTV STREAM allows you to watch on an unlimited number of devices simultaneously. Fubo limits you to 10 devices but that is effectively unlimited. The base NBA League Pass limits you to a single screen but you can watch up to 4 games on the same screen. If you want multiple devices, you need to upgrade to the Premium plan, which gives you three.
All these services support Android TV-based smart TVs; the major “stick” devices Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, and Roku; and mobile devices running Android and iOS. Fubo and NBA League Pass support other devices like the Xbox One gaming system.
Our Choice
If you live in or around Utah, you can watch virtually all of the Jazz games on KJZZ-14. You can watch with an antenna. But if you want to stream instead, I recommend Fubo. Fubo allows you to try out its service with a free trial.
If you are out-of-market, I recommend getting NBA League Pass.
FAQs
How can I listen to the Utah Jazz radio broadcast?
Local Utah Jazz fans can tune into The Zone Sports Network — 1280 AM and 97.5 FM — to catch the team’s radio broadcasts. Those there can also download the Jazz’s app and listen to broadcasts through it. The team has a radio network that stretches across Utah and north to Idaho Falls as well. Fans further away can still listen, through an NBA League Pass Audio subscription ($9.99/yr). No blackouts apply to those streams.
What happened to AT&T SportsNet Rocky Mountain
In 2023, the owner of AT&T SportsNet Rocky Mountain decided to leave the RSN broadcasting space. As a result, they sold AT&T SportsNet Southwest and AT&T SportsNet Pittsburgh. AT&T SportsNet Rocky Mountain was simply closed due to the loss of contracts with the Golden Knights and the Jazz.
