I’ll watch Michigan Wolverines football games cheaper than cable this season as the team tries to reclaim its national championship from 2023. Most streaming services show NCAA Big Ten Conference games, such as Fubo, DIRECTV STREAM, and Hulu + Live TV — I’ll explain every option for watching without cable.

In a hurry? If you want to start watching the Wolverines right now, these streaming services have you covered:

  • Fubo: The best streaming service for international sports also provides 150+ well-selected channels. Fubo allows you to try out its service with a free trial.
  • DIRECTV STREAM: Get a great channel lineup with the best selection of RSNs in the industry. A 5-day free trial is now available for DIRECTV STREAM.
  • Hulu + Live TV: This total entertainment streaming service provides a great on-demand selection and all the essential live TV channels with a 3-day free trial.

If you can’t watch your favorite sports because of your location, get ExpressVPN to access the content you deserve.

Note for viewing from : streaming platforms like Fubo or Sling TV limit access to US viewers, but combining your existing subscription with a VPN enables streaming from anywhere in the world.

ExpressVPN is my #1 choice because it’s easy to set up, super reliable, and works perfectly with these streaming services. You get access to US content through their servers in 25+ US cities, plus 3 free months and a 30-day refund if you’re not happy.

You’ll have access to local platforms as if you were in the country, as well as access to services like BBC iPlayer as if you were in the UK, CBC Gem as if you were in Canada, plus hundreds more worldwide.

How Do I Watch the Michigan Wolverines Football Game Today?

What Channels Show the Michigan Wolverines Games?

The Michigan Wolverines NCAA football team plays in the Big Ten Conference. As of 2024, Big Ten members’ games air on CBS, NBC, Fox (sometimes FS1), and Big Ten Network (BTN). Some games stream on Peacock and Paramount+, but these will also be broadcast on NBC and CBS.

How to Stream Michigan Wolverines Games

Many Michigan Wolverines games often air on local over-the-air stations (CBS, Fox, and NBC) which can be picked up in select markets for free with an antenna.

I want all the channels needed to watch every Wolverines game though, so I found the following streaming services provide access to the local channels plus BTN, FS1, and the ESPN channels that air college Bowl games (Wolverines will play at least one). Most of these services let you watch on multiple screens simultaneously too — after signing up for one, download the platform’s app onto any compatible streaming device, and then select the right channel to start watching.

About Michigan Wolverines Football

Located in Ann Arbor, the University of Michigan is one of the most prestigious schools in the United States. The football program was established in 1879, and over the past 140+ years, it has won 45 Big Ten titles and claimed 12 national championships.

With 1,004 wins, Michigan has the most wins in college football history. In 2023, after defeating Alabama in the Rose Bowl, they claimed the College Football Playoff National Championship against Washington.

The football team plays at Michigan Stadium, often called the “Big House” as it holds roughly 115,000 fans at full capacity.

When Was the Last Time Michigan Won the National Championship?

Michigan won it all in the 2023 college football season. This was the Wolverines’ first national title in 26 years (second in 75) and will never be forgotten by UM fans. The team appointed new head coach Sherrone Moore in 2024, after previous coach Jim Harbaugh left for the NFL. While many Wolverine players knew Moore well, as he has worked with the program since 2018, the team clearly still needs to adapt to the change in leadership, after failing to make the College Football Playoffs in 2024.

The offense also needed more time to gel, as it was filled with many new pieces following the departure of top players from the offensive line, at quarterback, running back, and in the receiving corps. Some players expected to lead the way on this side of the ball in 2024 included running back Donovan Edwards, tight end Colston Loveland, and linemen Josh Priebe and Myles Hinton.

Also of note were the new coordinators in 2024: Kirk Campbell for the offense and Don Martindale for the defense.

The latter looked to keep last season’s top-ranked defense at a high level in 2024. A pair of transfers contributed at the linebacker position: Jaishawn Barham from Maryland and Ernest Hausmann from Nebraska. Other top players for the Wolverines in 2024 were cornerback Will Johnson and defensive tackles Kenneth Grant and Mason Graham, all returners.

The team’s kicker was Dominic Zvada, who spent the previous two years at Arkansas State, a team UM beat in week three.

Michigan’s 2024 schedule certainly tested the team. It featured a non-conference home game with SEC member Texas and a conference tilt with new Big Ten school Oregon, while the away portion included a matchup with last season’s title game opponent Washington and fierce rival and fellow Big Ten power Ohio State.

What Is the Michigan Wolverines Football Schedule for the 2024 Season?

The Wolverines’ first regular season game was at home on August 31st, 2024, against the Fresno State Bulldogs, which Michigan won.

They will play one postseason game: the ReliaQuest Bowl in Florida on December 31st, 2024, against Alabama. It will air on ESPN at 12:00 pm.
