Oklahoma State Cowboys Channels

The Big 12 television contracts mean Oklahoma State games air on Fox, FS1, ABC, ESPN, and ESPN2. At least one game will stream exclusively on ESPN+, but this will also air locally on ABC. ESPN is a useful channel for any college football fan, as all postseason College Football Playoff matchups and most bowl games are broadcast on it.

While Fox and ABC, as over-the-air channels, may be picked up with a digital antenna, all channels airing Cowboys games during the regular college football season are available through the streaming services below.

If you are a big fan of MLB, NBA, or NHL, you should look closely at Fubo and DIRECTV STREAM. Both of them provide access to almost all of the RSNs that broadcast local team games.

Streaming the Oklahoma State Cowboys

After signing up for a streaming service that has the necessary channels, you can download its app onto a compatible device, log in, and select the channel you need. Then just start watching the Oklahoma State game.

Today’s streaming services work with almost every device available, including Amazon Fire TV, Android and iOS mobile devices, Android TV-based and Samsung smart TVs, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku devices and TVs, and web browsers. Other smart TVs and gaming systems such as Xbox and PlayStation are often supported too.

Full cable-replacement services (all of the above except ESPN+) will provide a cloud DVR that lets you record live channels (including OSU games).

None of the services come with contracts, so you can cancel without fees, though Sling often provides a free antenna if you pre-pay for two or three months in advance.

Our Choice

If you want the best way to watch Oklahoma State Cowboys football, Hulu + Live TV is the clear winner. It’s got every channel you need – ABC, ESPN/2, Fox, FS1, and even ESPN+ – so you won’t be scrambling to find a stream on game day. The picture quality is solid, the interface is smooth, and the unlimited cloud DVR means you can record games and watch whenever it works for you. It plays nice with just about any device, so you’re set whether you’re on your couch or out and about. Other services like Fubo and DIRECTV STREAM come close, but Hulu + Live TV stands out by bundling in ESPN+, saving you from juggling extra subscriptions. If you want a hassle-free way to catch every Cowboys game, this is your best bet.

Oklahoma State Cowboys Football

Oklahoma State has been playing football games since 1901. The Cowboys have one national title, claimed in 1945, and 11 conference championships, two of which were Big Eight/12 trophies. One of these was shared with the Oklahoma Sooners (in 1976), while OSU claimed the conference title outright in 2011.

The Cowboys have played at a high level ever since head coach Mike Gundy’s fourth season, as his 2008 squad went 9-4 and kickstarted an especially impressive four-year stretch from 2008-11 that resulted in Oklahoma State going 41-11.

The program has recorded eight double-digit win seasons since 2010, most recently in 2021 (12-2) and again in 2023 (10-4) when they finished with a national ranking of 16th. The only times the Cowboys reached that win total prior to Gundy’s arrival occurred in 1984, 1987, and 1988 (all 10-2), the latter two featuring starting running backs Thurman Thomas (1987) and Barry Sanders (1988).

OSU has been a member of the Big 12 Conference since 1996. They play their home games at Boone Pickens Stadium, which can accommodate nearly 54,000 fans in its stands.

What Are the Expectations for Oklahoma State Football in the Upcoming Season?

Oklahoma made it to the Big 12 Championship game last year but fell 21-49 against the Texas Longhorns. The Pokes then wrapped up 2023 with a 31-23 win in the Texas Bowl game against Texas A&M in Houston, Texas.

Much of OSU’s squad in 2023 returns for another year of wearing orange and black on fall Saturdays, and the 2024 Cowboys are expected to be another top-25 team with the potential for greater glory.

Leading the way will be standout 2023-Doak-Walker-Award-winning running back Ollie Gordon II, who will be in Stillwater for his junior season. He also earned Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year accolades last year, and some are saying he may even have a Heisman Trophy-winning season in 2024.

Handing him the ball is expected to be senior quarterback Alan Bowman, who helped lead an impressive offense last year. He and Gordon will be lining up behind an especially experienced offensive line as it is full of seniors. Bowman also has talented seniors to throw to in wide receivers Rashod Owens and Brennan Presley.

Oklahoma State’s defense is experienced as well, with 10 returning starters. It will probably need to take a significant leap forward if the Cowboys are to have a historic season though, since OSU ranked 86th nationally in scoring defense last year, allowing 28.6 points per game.

Amongst the leaders on the defensive side of the ball are junior linebacker Nick Martin and safeties Trey Rucker, a senior, and Kendal Daniels, a junior.

One key loss for the Cowboys is kicker Alex Hale, whose time in Stillwater has ended. Junior Logan Ward is expected to replace him.

What Are the Key Games on Oklahoma State Football’s Schedule for the Upcoming Season?

Oklahoma State’s 2024 schedule will not include any games with Texas or Oklahoma. The latter is an especially significant development, since the last time the two Oklahoma schools didn’t meet — in an annual event known as the Bedlam Series — was in 1909, just five years after the rivals’ initial meeting. This is due to Oklahoma and Texas moving to the SEC as of 2024. (Other Oklahoma State University sports teams, including the Cowgirls’ softball team, will continue the Bedlam Series.)

The Cowboys’ slate starts with an August 31 home game versus FCS-champion South Dakota State and ends with an away contest versus Deion Sanders-led Colorado on November 29. They have a game against their on-and-off rivals the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes this year, on September 14th.

Other key matchups include the September 21st game against Utah and a Friday game against BYU on October 18th. The only other Friday game is against Colorado on November 29th.

If the Cowboys are contenders for the Big 12 championship game, they will head to Arlington, Texas, for that December 7th contest (airing on ABC).
