Tampa Bay Buccaneers Week 3

Baker Mayfield started the 2024-25 season the way he ended the 2023 season by throwing four touchdowns en route to a 37-20 win over Washington. Mike Evans had two touchdown catches while Chris Godwin added 83 yards receiving and a touchdown.

Jordan Whitehead led the team with eight total tackles on defense while Joe Tryon-Shoyinka and SirVocea Dennis had a sack each. With Carolina and Atlanta struggling today, there is a strong chance that Tampa Bay could win the NFC South if they continue to play like they did Sunday. Tampa Bay will travel to Detroit this weekend.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a 2-0 record in Week 3.

Fans of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who live in the team’s broadcast area will have access to all the team’s games. But out-of-market fans (those outside the area) only get access to some — the ones that the broadcasters in that area think will most appeal to local fans.

We’ve written an entire guide about this issue, NFL Out-of-Market Football Games. There are two primary options. One is to sign up with NFL Sunday Ticket. The other is to use a VPN to watch out-of-market NFL games.

About the Tampa Bay Buccaneers

A year ago, the Buccaneers appeared headed towards a particularly poor season as a four-game losing streak and a 1-6 stretch dropped their record to 4-7. However, four straight wins and a 5-1 finish to their regular season followed, getting them into the playoffs at 9-8, and they did not stop there. Tampa Bay then dominated the Eagles, 32-9, before falling to the Lions, 31-23.

That marked the fourth straight season that the Buccaneers have advanced to the postseason, an impressive stretch that started with a Super Bowl-winning campaign in 2020. Not only that, but Tampa Bay has claimed the last three NFC South titles. But all of that is in the past. What about 2024?

Quarterback Baker Mayfield, who took over for Tom Brady following his retirement in 2023, played well in his first year with the franchise, being named to a Pro Bowl roster for the first time. However, he will have a new immediate supervisor in offensive coordinator Liam Coen although the two did work together in those same roles in 2022, when both were with the Rams.

Elsewhere on the offense, players such as running back Rachaad White and wide receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin should contribute to successes while tackle Tristan Wirfs is expected to stabilize the line to give Mayfield and the rest of the offense time to work.

Defensively, tackle Vita Vea, linebacker Lavonte David, and safety Antoine Winfield Jr. are expected to once again be amongst the best in the league and play notable roles in that unit’s successes in 2024.

On special teams, kicker Chase McLaughlin enjoyed no stability in his NFL career until now. He had not stay with a franchise for longer than a year since entering the league in 2019 until his back-to-back seasons in Tampa Bay from 2023-24. He has been rewarded by the Bucs for setting franchise records in field goal percentage (94%) and 55+-yarders (five) in 2023.

Todd Bowles returns as head coach for the Buccaneers.
