Overview of Memphis Showboats
The Memphis Showboats are one of three teams from the USFL that moved to the USL in 2024. They finished last year with a record of 5-5 and did not make the playoffs. They now play in the USFL Conference of the UFL.
Showboats Squad
Cole Kelley was the starting Quarterback for the Showboats most of last season and he is returning this year. With him running backs Ezra Gray, Kerrith Whyte, Darius Victor, and Trey Williams, wide receivers Derrick Dillon, Ryan McDaniel, Osirus Mitchell, Daewood Davis, and Rashard Davis, and tight ends Michael Ezeike, John Mitchell, and Jay Jay Wilson.
On defense are linebackers Vontae Diggs and Shaheed Salmon and defensive backs Delrick Abrams, and NFL veterans Quenton Meeks, Tye Smith, and TJ Green.
The Showboats coaching staff is headed by former NFL quarterback coach John DeFilippo. Doug Martin is the offensive coordinator and Carnell Lake is back as defensive coordinator.
Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium
The Showboats play their home games at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium in Memphis, Tennessee. The 58,325 capacity stadium opened in 1965. It is also the home of the Memphis Tigers and the yearly Liberty Bowl.
