How to Watch Tottenham Hotspur

Unfortunately, watching Tottenham Hotspur is not generally a simple process as which channel a specific match will be on depends on a number of factors, including which competition it is a part of and which country you are in.

USA

If you are located in the US and looking to watch Spurs play a Premier League match, NBCUniversal should be your focus. Note that this is also the case for Spanish-language broadcasts. These outlets include NBC, USA Network, CNBC, Telemundo, Universo, and Peacock Premium.

Meanwhile, if you want to catch Spurs taking on the best of Europe in the UEFA Champions League, Europa League, or Europa Conference League, Paramount+ and ViX are where you should head. CBS may broadcast the game as well while Spanish-language television coverage of these competitions may be shown on Univision, UniMas, or TUDN.

FA Cup, EFL Cup, and FA Community Shield game coverage is provided by ESPN+.

Streaming Tottenham Hotspur Online in the US

Because of all the places that Tottenham Hotspur plays, you will need Peacock Premium ($7.99/month) and ESPN+ ($10.99/month) along with a live TV streaming service:

  • Fubo (formerly FuboTV): A great soccer streaming service with 150+ channels including local network affiliates along with TUDN and beIN Sports starting at $79.99/month. (Fubo review)

Elsewhere

Tottenham Hotspur supporters located in Canada should access Fubo (Premier League), Sportsnet (FA Cup), and DAZN (UEFA Champions League and EFL Cup).

Or are you actually in London but not at the Spurs match? In that case, as long as it is not blacked out as a result of the UK’s Saturday afternoon soccer blackout law, you can watch it on BT Sport (Premier League and UEFA Champions League), Sky Sports (Premier League and EFL Cup), Prime Video (Premier League), BBC (FA Cup), or ITV (FA Cup).

Perhaps you are Down Under instead. In that case, note that Aussies can watch the Lilywhites on Optus Sport (Premier League), Paramount+ (FA Cup), beIN Sports (EFL Cup), and Stan Sport (UEFA Champions League).

Premier League History and Structure

Tottenham Hotspur has played in the English Premier League since that competition’s inaugural 1992-93 season, never finishing lower than 15th and, as a result, never being relegated from it. In fact, the last time that Spurs got relegated was the result of a 22nd- and last-place finish in the First Division in 1977-78, but the club bounced back up a year later, at the first time of asking.

The Lilywhites have never won the Premier League while their top finishes came in successive seasons: 2015-16 (third), 2016-17 (second), and 2017-18 (third). Since then, their high-water mark has been fourth, which was accomplished twice, in 2018-19 and 2021-22.

All Premier League sides also take part in the FA Cup and EFL Cup while the top ones participate in European competitions as well. These include the UEFA Champions League, Europa League, and Europa Conference League. Tottenham has played in at least one of those latter three every season since 2009-10.

All About Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur FC was founded in 1882. At that time, it was simply known as Hotspur FC. That name was changed to its current one two years later.

Spurs have twice won England’s top league, claiming the First Division in 1950-51 and 1960-61. The 1950-51 title came on the heels of a Second Division championship in 1949-50.

Where this team has really shined, however, is in the FA Cup, having claimed that knockout competition on eight occasions, although it has not done so since 1990-91. The first of those titles was won in 1900-01. The Lilywhites have also lifted the EFL Cup four times, most recently doing so in 2007-08.

The club winning both the First Division and FA Cup in 1960-61 allowed it to achieve that prestigious double, marking the first time that any English team had done so since 1896-97.

As for European competitions, Tottenham won the UEFA Cup, the predecessor of the Europa League, in 1971-72 and 1983-84 as well as the now-defunct Cup Winners’ Cup in 1962-63. The best that Spurs have done in the Champions League was a runner-up finish in 2018-19. More recently, they reached that competition’s round of 16 in 2019-20 and 2022-23.

Tottenham Hotspur has a fierce rivalry with Arsenal, which is known as the North London derby. Their home facilities, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Emirates Stadium, are only 4 miles apart, and they have faced off repeatedly since their initial meeting in 1887 although that was a friendly that was abandoned 75 minutes in due to darkness. Their first completed friendly occurred the following year, and their initial competitive meeting was in 1899.

It’s got all the Premier League games you need, streaming smoothly without those annoying pauses that ruin the action. The interface is super simple to use, and you can catch games on just about any device – from your phone to your smart TV. Unlike others I tried, Peacock Premium focuses on what matters for fans, offering solid coverage without paying for a ton of extra fluff. Sure, it doesn’t come with DVR, but at this price and with on-demand replays, it’s hard to beat. For straightforward, reliable Spurs coverage, this one checks all the boxes.
