As I use Peacock, NBC’s streaming service, I’ve noticed it improving constantly. Let me walk you through everything you need to know about it, from the content library to the special events available for streaming.
In a hurry? The base Peacock is available for free. If you want to get complete access (including WWE PPV events), it costs a reasonable $7.99/month. Or $13.99/month if you want to go ad-free. Sign-up today!

Details About Peacock
Peacock is NBCUniversal’s streaming service. It’s similar to CBS’s Paramount+ in providing a way to stream most of its own content. But unlike that service, it has a free tier.
Since its launch in mid-2020, it has grown substantially with almost 25 million total active accounts and 9 million Premium subscribers. But more than that, it has grown in terms of the content that it provides.
Plans
Peacock provides three tiers:
- Base (Free): Provides a large collection of shows and movies that are ad-supported.
- Premium ($7.99/month): Provides Peacock’s full library of shows, movies, and events. This includes access to full coverage of sporting events like English Premier League soccer, Olympics, and WWE shows and events. (Black Friday deal)
- Premium Plus ($13.99/month): This is the same as Peacock Premium but without ads for the vast majority of its content. You can also download some of this for offline viewing.
Content
It’s unreasonable to list even a substantial part of the Peacock library because it includes thousands of hours of content. You just need to sign-up and see for yourself. Remember: there’s a free version.
The shows, movies, and events that show up with a white feather on purple background in the upper-left-hand corner are ones you need to pay a subscription for. This is a good way to determine if you need a paid subscription.
Shows
Here are some of the Peacock Originals. Note that you can usually watch the first episode with a free account but you must get a Peacock Premium subscription to watch the rest.
- Brave New World
- Girls5eva
- MacGruber
- Rutherford Falls
- Saved by the Bell
- Vigil
- We Are Lady Parts
- Wolf Like Me
- Yellowstone.
Peacock also provides a large library of NBC shows. Some (mostly older) shows like 30 Rock, Columbo, and Murder, She Wrote, and Battlestar Galactica are all available for free.
Other (generally more recent) shows like The Office, Cheers, Downton Abbey, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Parks and Recreation, and Law & Order spin-offs have early episodes or seasons free with later seasons only available with Premium.
You’ll also get next-day and next-week access to current shows like Saturday Night Live, Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, and Late Night With Seth Meyers.
Movies
Peacock will be more than just TV shows. Many of the most popular movie franchises of all time will find their home on the new NBC streaming service. This includes original movies from Universal Pictures and DreamWorks Animation. It also provides box office releases from both Universal Pictures and Focus Features.
Some highlights of movies on Peacock include SuperBad, Hitch, The Shawshank Redemption, Cowboys & Aliens, Miss Congeniality, Safe House, and all the Harry Potter films.
Sports
Peacock’s sports coverage is what makes a lot of people get the Premium plan. As mentioned before, a lot of EPL matches appear only on this service.
And the coverage of WWE is even better. The WWE Network was shut down and moved to Peacock TV. This not only includes all the shows. It includes every live event, including the Big Five events that you would normally have to get via PPV.
Peacock is also the place to watch the Olympics. The entire event will be streamed there. And after they are over, Peacock will continue to provide coverage for Olympic-style sports and qualifying events.
But there is much more including pro and NCAA golf (including the US Open), auto racing, rugby, cycling, and more.

Peacock TV provides support for most streaming devices so you should be able to watch in all the places you are used to. The Peacock app runs on all the following:
