AMC is iconic in the world of cable channels, so many fans understandably worry about cutting the cord and losing it. But there is nothing to worry about. Many major streaming services offer AMC in their base plans.

Table Of Contents
Previously known for uncut, uncolored classic films, AMC is now better known as the producer of original dramas Mad Men, Breaking Bad, and The Walking Dead. The latter went on to become the highest-rated scripted show in cable history.
We get it: you want to ditch your cable company, but if you miss the latest The Walking Dead episode as it airs, you risk someone dropping a spoiler. No fear — you can keep on top of all the zombie-killing drama with one of the streaming services discussed here.
How to Watch AMC Live Without Cable
AMC is the flagship channel of AMC Networks, which also owns BBC America, IFC, Sundance TV, and We TV. Among the “basic cable” channels, only FX brings a similar level of original prestige television.
Film buffs pining for the good old days when American Movie Classics still showed black and white Buster Keaton and Humphrey Bogart movies can tune into Turner Classic Movies (TCM) for their Casablanca fix.
AMC isn’t available over the air (OTA), so you can’t tune in with an antenna. Historically, you’ve needed to go through a cable or satellite provider to watch it, but now there are several streaming services that bring channels like AMC to you over the internet.
These over-the-top (OTT) services such as FuboTV are typically cheaper than cable packages, without contracts or hidden fees. All you need is a high-speed internet connection.
Streaming Services with AMC
Let’s start with the bad news: two of the top streaming services, Hulu + Live TV and Vidgo, don’t carry AMC or any of its sister channels. Bummer.

FuboTV and Sling also support the Xbox One. And Sling allows you to watch on the VR Oculus.

FAQ
Does Hulu offer AMC?
Hulu + Live TV does not offer AMC. Even their on-demand service is a disappointment when it comes to the channel. It doesn’t stream back-seasons of The Walking Dead, though they do have its spin-off, Fear the Walking Dead along with a handful of other AMC and IFC originals. Nor does Hulu + Live TV carry any of the AMC Network channels such as BBC America.
What is the cheapest way to get AMC?
The cheapest way to get AMC content is through AMC+, which starts at $4.99/mo right now (regularly $8.99/mo when you subscribe through AMC directly). It doesn’t live-stream AMC, but you actually get episodes to some current shows – including The Walking Dead – a week before they air. Some shows are AMC+ exclusives you can’t watch anywhere else.
If you prefer watching AMC as a live TV channel, your cheapest option is Philo, which has AMC and 60+ other channels for $25/mo.
If you wanna get AMC-crazy and go for both live-streaming and all the perks of AMC+, you should take a look at Sling TV’s Orange package: for $42/mo ($35/mo base plus $7/mo add-on), you get over thirty channels including AMC, BBC America, and IFC, plus all of AMC+’s content.
Can I get just AMC by itself?
You can’t get just AMC by itself. The closest thing is AMC+, which gives you the excellent deal of basically all the AMC Networks’ combined content on-demand, with some episodes available even before they air on AMC. It also has some AMC+ exclusive content not offered anywhere else. But it doesn’t give you the live channel.
How do I watch other entertainment channels without cable?
We’ve been helping people cut the cable for over a decade and along the way we’ve written a lot of articles that explain how to watch many of the most popular channels without cable:
