Logo TV was one of the first networks to gear its programming toward the LGBTQ community. Originally, many people compared its shows to those found on Bravo. More recently, however, it has shifted toward airing old reruns of popular sitcoms from the past decades.

If this type of entertainment appeals to you, Logo TV is perfect. You don’t require a cable subscription to view it. Read on to uncover the best streaming deal for your needs.

What Is Logo TV

Logo TV is an American channel that is owned by Paramount Media Networks. It premiered in 2005 and dedicated programming to an LGBTQ audience.

The founder was Matt Farber, a former MTV executive. Brian Graden, its past president, once ranked at the top of the list of the “Most Powerful Gay People in America.” At its launch, it replaced VH1 Mega Hits.

Although many people believed that the “Logo” name was an acronym related to the words “lesbian” and “gay,” it has been denied by the network. However, Logo was popular for broadcasting LGBTQ shows like the RuPaul’s Drag Race series.

In the beginning, Logo TV was home to reality shows, travel programs, movies, documentaries, comedies, news, and syndicated programs with “queer” characters. By 2017, the lineup switched to air sitcoms from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. The network no longer produces original shows.

Currently, Logo TV is the ideal channel when you want to binge old sitcoms from the past decades. For example, Three’s Company, The Nanny, and Will & Grace are just a sampling of TV shows that you can view in blocks throughout the week.

You can still find the programs that originally made Logo TV so popular:

  • Noah’s Ark: This drama centered around the lives of four black gay buddies. Along the show’s run, their personal and professional experiences were explored. It was the first scripted television show to focus on the lives of homosexual black men.
  • Finding Prince Charming: Similar to The Bachelor, this reality show followed multiple males hoping to win the heart of a handsome bachelor. Lance Bass was the competition host.
  • Fire Island: Very similar to the ever-popular Jersey Shore. This reality show followed six gay men as they shared a beach house in paradise. Although the show drew criticism for portraying this group in a negative light, its intent was meant to be fun and light-hearted.
  • The A-list: New York: Another enjoyable reality show, this program rivaled Real Housewives. Many people viewed this as a guilty pleasure to watch. Others believed that it lowered the image of gay men. However, it highlighted how the identity of gay men has changed over the years.

  • Here TV: Offers one of the largest libraries of LGBTQ movies, series, and other great entertainment options. You can also view originals and notable documentaries. For example, its 30 Years from Here debuted in 2011. It showcased the 30-year war on the AIDS pandemic.

Few outlets provide an opportunity to watch content that supports the LGBTQ community. Although Logo TV began as this type of platform, it has transformed into a television lineup that includes bingeable blocks of classic sitcoms from decades pass. However, it is possible to stream reruns of favorite Logo TV originals. We recommend Sling TV for fans of Logo.
