How to Watch Newsmax TV Without Cable for 24/7 Live News

When I need instant and conservative political updates, I usually turn to Newsmax TV — especially as it has a free app that makes it easy to stream from anywhere. Often described as “right-wing”, I’ve found Newsmax generally focuses on political talk shows between breaking news coverage, and it’s easy to get without cable. I’ll explain how to watch on Fubo, Sling TV, DIRECTV STREAM, and which free options are available.

In a hurry? You can find Newsmax TV with most streaming services, including:

  • Fubo: Newsmax TV is one of the 150+ channels in Fubo’s base (Pro) plan for $79.99/month.
  • Sling TV: If you’re a news enthusiast, Sling’s News Extra add-on provides Newsmax and several other news channels for an extra $6/month.
  • DIRECTV STREAM: Possibly the most expensive option, but its Entertainment package provides dozens of news and information channels, including Newsmax TV.

How to Watch Newsmax TV Live Without Cable

Three major streaming services carry Newsmax TV: Fubo, Sling TV, and DIRECTV STREAM. Designed to be total cable replacements, these services provide most or all the channels available with a cable or satellite subscription — but for less money and without any contracts.

DIRECTV STREAM$164.99/month185+DIRECTV

*Newsmax TV is available through Sling TV with the News Extra add-on for $6/month extra.

All the above packages include cloud-based DVRs with unlimited storage (Sling plans are restricted to 50 hours, but you can expand this for an additional fee).

Most plans can be watched on multiple screens at once, using almost any popular streaming device, such as iOS and Android mobile devices, Amazon Fire TV, Roku, Apple TV, Chromecast, and many types of smart TVs (depending on the individual streaming service).

Other Ways to Stream Newsmax TV

I’ve also had success catching Spicer & Co without needing a full streaming service. If you’re only interested in watching what John Bachman thinks about the day’s events, it’s worth checking out the following ways to watch Newsmax TV:

  • YouTube: That’s YouTube, not YouTube TV. Newsmax has a 24/7 livestream on YouTube that you can watch completely free. The channel also has videos of past clips.
  • NewsmaxTV.com: Newsmax’s website always has a live stream playing, but you need to log in with a TV provider or Newsmax+ subscription. Newsmax+ starts at $4.99/mo.
  • Xumo and Pluto TV: As smaller streaming services, Xumo and Pluto TV generally carry lesser-known programming, but they’re free to download and watch. Both carry Newsmax2, the free version of Newsmax’s live stream.
  • Newsmax TV App: Newsmax’s official app provides free access to a 24/7 live stream of Newsmax2. You can access premium features by signing in with a Newsmax+ subscription.

Our Choice

If you only want basic Newsmax coverage, I suggest trying out the channel’s free live stream (Newsmax2) via YouTube or the Newsmax TV app.

If you want the full Newsmax TV channel though, I recommend getting it with Fubo, as this strikes the ideal balance between price and news content. Newsmax is included in Fubo’s base plan, without needing expensive add-ons or upgrades, and this also comes with local channels and around 13 other news outlets so you’ll always have the latest updates from the US and around the world. FAQs

What is Newsmax+?

Newsmax+ is a direct-to-consumer streaming service that provides Newsmax and other content. In the past, Newsmax was free to stream online. That is no longer the case. So if you just want Newsmax, Newsmax+ is the cheapest way to get it for $4.99/mo. But if you want other channels like Fox News as well, we recommend a full-cable replacement service like the ones mentioned above.

    • Unfortunately, Newsmax is no longer available for free. However, you can get it through a free trial on streaming services like Fubo, DIRECTV STREAM, or Newsmax’s own service, Newsmax+.

Alternatively, you can watch Newsmax2 which offers shorter clips and headline rundowns for free. It’s available on YouTube, the Newsmax TV website, and other platforms.

  • My cable company Comcast/Xfinity lets me watch Newsmax, at no extra charge on my tv channel 1115 I was also able to get it on my iPhone and iPad. The last two weeks, I’m not able to get it on the iPhone or iPad, I was able to watch it anywhere I go.

  • More corporate greed. They want to make a profit, but they don’t have the quality. At $29.99 per year it would be OK but not $49.99.

    • I understand – $49.99/year just for one channel can feel a lot. You may want to try getting by with watching Newsmax2 if that works.

  • I purchased the streaming channel. I love it, but hate having to login every other day! What gives with that? Tired of it!

    • Its a Newsmax issue. Unfortunately, no other option right now apart from waiting for a fix.

  • Nothing but troubles . I pay 499 per month. I don’t want to log in all the time 😫

  • How do I get Newsmax on my phone free I do not have TV I will not pay for TV. I’ve always watch Newsmax and for some reason now I can’t watch Newsmax so I guess I’ll have to go watch fake news.

    • Newsmax is no longer available for free. If you can get by with shorter clips and headline rundowns, you can watch Newsmax2 on Newsmax TV’s website and YouTube channel for free.

    • Luckily, Newsmax was added to the channels in YouTube TV’s base plan in October 2024.

    • Yes, Newsmax+ is available within the Newsmax app on Roku.

  • Well Newsmax is off my Roku streaming service. If I had funds I’d subscribe to It but have to say bye bye Newsmax you WERE my #1 to watch.

    • I’m afraid Newsmax gets short shrift because it’s free. All you need to do is install the Newsmax app on your TV. You will literally be watching the channel live within about a minute. It also features a great selection of the channel’s most popular shows like The Record With Greta Van Susteren.

If you don’t have a smart TV, it’s a bit more complicated. You will need a laptop computer. Just connect it to your TV via an HDMI cable and change the TV’s input to that HDMI port. Then go to the Newsmax website, unmute the volume of the live feed and expand it to full screen. You’re good!

    • I don’t currently have any LG units to test. According to LG, Newsmax is on Channel 138. Is it possible they moved it and just didn’t tell anyone?
