Georgia Southern Eagles vs Ohio Bobcats
The 2023 Myrtle Beach Bowl features a matchup between the Sun Belt and Mid-Atlantic (MAC) conferences.
The Georgia Southern Eagles qualified despite a poor regular season leaving them in last-place finish in the East Division of the Sun Belt Conference. They did however manage a 6-6 record (only 3-5 in-conference, however).
The Ohio Bobcats did much better, finishing second in the East Division (third overall) of the MAC. They managed a 9-3 record (6-2 nonconference).
This game is the only postseason appearance for either team this year.
Georgia Southern Eagles Personnel
Clay Helton is in his second season as the head coach of the Eagles. He is supported by offensive coordinator Bryan Ellis and defensive coordinator Brandon Bailey.
Notables on the offense include Davis Brin (QB), Jalen White (RB), OJ Arnold (RB), Khaleb Hood (WR), Derwin Burgess Jr (WR), Dalen Cobb (WR), and Jjay Mcafee (TE).

Quarterback Kurtis Rourke leads the offensive with running backs Sieh Bangura and O’Shaan Allison. Downfield is covered with wide receivers Sam Wiglusz, Miles Cross, and Tyler Walton along with tight ends Will Kacmarek and Tyler Foster.
On defense: linebackers Bryce Houston and Keye Thompson; defensive backs Justin Birchette, Jeremiah Wood, Austin Brawley, Adonis Williams Jr, Mekah Ryder, Walter Reynolds, and Tank Pearson; and linemen Bradley Weaver, Vonnie Watkins, Rayyan Buell, Shane Bonner, Rodney Mathews, Bralen Henderson, and Kwame Sutton.
