Thursday Night Football in 2022: How to Watch Chargers at Chiefs and the Rest of the Season

Last Updated:

Learn how to watch every NFL game with our out of market NFL guide!

After a hard-fought game with the Los Angeles Chargers doing well early and late, the Kansas City Chiefs held on to win 27-24.

As the NFL rolls into its second week, one thing is brand new: Thursday Night Football. And this is the first year that cable subscribers are out of luck. That’s because all the remaining games (except for Thanksgiving) will stream exclusively through Amazon.

In a hurry? Sign up for Amazon Prime Video now!

Here’s all the essential information:

  • Home team: Kansas City Chiefs
  • Away team: Los Angeles Chargers
  • Date: Thursday, September 15th
  • Time: (EDT)
  • Where to watch: Prime Video.

The opening line for the game was Chiefs by 3.5 points but this has moved more in the Chiefs’ direction since then. The total for the game is anywhere from 54 to 56 depending on the source. Assuming 55, this would imply a Chiefs victory of 29-26. Sounds like a great game!

Play-by-play will be by the venerable Al Michaels with Kirk Herbstreit providing color commentary. Kaylee Hartung will be doing sideline reporting.

New faces include long-time Bengals tackle Andrew Whitworth and Buccaneers cornerback Aqib Talib. The two played together for the Rams during the 2018-19 season. They will be providing commentary for the pregame, half-time, and postgame shows.

Every Thursday Night Football game is included with Amazon Prime Video. You can get it alone for $8.99/mo, which is a good deal even if all you want are these games. But most people go for the full plan, $14.99/mo ($139/yr), which includes free shipping and a number of other benefits.

You can find out more in our Thursday Night Football Viewer’s Guide.
