About This Eagles-Texans Game
This is almost as lopsided a matchup as is possible as it features the NFL’s remaining undefeated team, the Eagles (7-0), taking a trip to the Lone Star State to face the Texans, who have the league’s second-worst mark at 1-5-1.
Philadelphia not only has a spotless record, but the Eagles have won more than half of those contests, four, by double-score margins. Their most recent outing featured its largest margin of victory, a 35-13 defeat of in-state rival Pittsburgh. Meanwhile, the team’s biggest injury worries heading into Thursday are related to cornerback Josiah Scott and defensive tackle Jordan Davis’ setbacks.
Houston’s most recent disappointment was a 17-10 loss to the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. However, keeping within a touchdown of the AFC South-leading Titans (5-2) was an encouraging sign. With that said, the Texans recording just 3 yards per offensive play was not. Plus, head coach Lovie Smith admitted that “I thought the Titans were in control … I thought they were the better team.”
After this game, the Eagles head home to host the Commanders (4-4) while the Texans face another top team in the Giants (6-2), this time on the road.
Most observers place the Eagles near or at the top of the rankings while the Texans are most often ranked 32nd in the 32-team field. So it isn’t surprising that the Eagles are expected to win by two touchdowns despite playing in Houston.
With a total of 45, we expect a final score of 29-16.
Streaming Options
In a sign of modern broadcasting changes, Amazon Prime Video is the primary home of Thursday Night Football. There is no way to watch it on traditional cable or satellite (unless you count the occasional Sunday Night Football game on Thursday).
Amazon Prime Video provides support for most streaming devices. Our review has complete details. But it supports all the stand devices: Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Roku, Xbox, PlayStation, and Android and iOS mobile devices.
You can also watch Thursday Night Football on NFL+ for just $4.99/mo. But this option limits you to watching on mobile devices. But it has the advantage of allowing to also watch the other primetime games (SNF and MNF) and local Sunday afternoon games. See our NFL+ review for details.
