I can watch Edmonton Oilers games through several different options in the 2024-25 season. Below, I’ll explore all the ways to catch every game live.

In a hurry? US-based fans can watch most Oilers games with ESPN+. To watch the nine nationally broadcast games, you will need a live TV streaming service:

  • DIRECTV STREAM: Get a great channel lineup with the best selection of RSNs in the industry. A 5-day free trial is now available for DIRECTV STREAM.
  • Sling TV: This low-cost service allows you to select just the channel lineup you want. Save 50% on Sling TV now.
  • Hulu + Live TV: This total entertainment streaming service provides a great on-demand selection and all the essential live TV channels with a 3-day free trial.

If you can’t watch your favorite sports because of your location, get ExpressVPN to access the content you deserve.

Note for viewing from : streaming platforms like Fubo or Sling TV limit access to US viewers, but combining your existing subscription with a VPN enables streaming from anywhere in the world.

ExpressVPN is my #1 choice because it’s easy to set up, super reliable, and works perfectly with these streaming services. You get access to US content through their servers in 25+ US cities, plus 3 free months and a 30-day refund if you’re not happy.

You’ll have access to local platforms as if you were in the country, as well as access to services like BBC iPlayer as if you were in the UK, CBC Gem as if you were in Canada, plus hundreds more worldwide.

The Oilers are based at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta. They’ve played there (along with the WHL’s Edmonton Oil Kings) since it was opened in 2016.

The team is relatively new. It traces its history back to the Alberta Oilers in the 1972-73 season of the WHA. The following year, it changed its name to the current Edmonton Oilers. But when the WHA folded after the 1978-79 season, the Oilers were one of 4 teams to move to the National Hockey League (NHL).

Despite being such a young team, the Oilers have had a lot of successes. Last year, they made it to the second round of the playoffs. And they’ve made the Stanley Cup seven times — winning five times during a very strong period of the 1980s.

The Oilers are a part of the Pacific Division of the Western Conference in the NHL.

What TV Channels Broadcast Edmonton Oilers Games?

In Canada, Edmonton Oilers regular and preseason games air almost exclusively on Sportsnet and its related channels — SN1, SN 360, Sportsnet West, Sportsnet Oilers. You should be able to stream with Sportsnet+.

Here is the national schedule for the Oilers on US TV.

Devices to Livestream Edmonton Oilers Games

All the streaming services — ESPN+, Sling TV, Fubo, DIRECTV STREAM, and Hulu + Live TV — allow you to live stream NHL games on pretty much all devices:

  • Amazon Fire TV
  • Android Mobile
  • Android TV-based smart TVs
  • Apple TV
  • Chromecast
  • iOS (iPhone/iPad)
  • Roku
  • Samsung smart TVs
  • Web Browsers

DIRECTV STREAM is the most limited in terms of devices. All the others also support LG and VIZIO smart TVs in addition to Xbox gaming systems. The PlayStation is supported by Hulu and ESPN+.

Our Choice

For US-based fans, ESPN+ stands out as the top choice for streaming Edmonton Oilers games, offering an affordable option with great streaming quality and reliability. I found that it delivers consistent performance across multiple devices, from Roku to smart TVs, making it ideal for fans who want flexibility. The channel package is well-priced and includes most of the regular season games, with the added perk of easy access to other sports content. For in-market fans, Fubo offers a more comprehensive channel lineup and better coverage of regional games. Whether you’re following the Oilers from home or afar, ESPN+ provides excellent value and a hassle-free viewing experience.
