How to watch the World Cup in Uzbekistan

Last Updated:

The 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar has proven once again to be the most exciting tournament in sports today. Unfortunately, the Uzbekistan White Wolves came in second place in Group D in the qualifying round and did not advance to the Group Stage. However, Uzbekistanis across the country will still want to watch the rest of the tournament unfold.

TV Channels to Watch Qatar 2022 in Uzbekistan

The National Television and Radio Company of Uzbekistan (MTRK) has exclusive television rights for the 2022 FIFA association football tournament games in the country. All matches will be live on the MTRK Sport Channel and will be available to watch across the country.

It may also run on the flagship channels Ozbekistan and Uzbekistan, although that decision has not been made official at this time.

Many people in the country have cable or satellite television plans and may also receive channels from other countries that will carry the tournament matches. Uzbekistanis who have access to Russian television stations can watch on Match TV. Saran Sports is also available in many parts of the country and throughout Central Asia and they will broadcast matches on television and through their app.

How to Stream Qatar 2022 Matches in Uzbekistan

The MTRK Mobile App makes streaming these matches quite simple, although is unfortunately only available on Android devices and through internet browsers. This will likely be the best option, as YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, Peacock, and most other streaming services are not available in the country. Streaming is also available online at Mtrk.uz.

What Devices Support World Cup Streaming in Uzbekistan?

Unfortunately, most streaming devices will not work within the country because of governmental restrictions. However, any device capable of streaming internet webpages will allow the people of Uzbekistan to stream using the MTRK website. Uzbekistanis with access to channels from other countries can use those stations’ apps and websites as well. It is also possible to access the stream from a computer, which can then be connected to a television set and watch the matches on a larger screen.
