Uruguay will be making its 14th appearance at the Qatar World Cup and will be looking for its third title. The country last won the World Cup in 1950 and has finished fourth three different times since then.

Uruguay is the smallest country to ever win the World Cup (1930 and 1950) with a population of around 2 million at those times.
