Team France’s Background

Kylian Mbappe headlines a France team that is full of confidence heading into the 2022 World Cup. In addition to Mbappe, France boasts quality goal scorers such as Karim Benzema and Antoine Griezmann who will seek to lead the team to its second straight World Cup title. France won the 2018 championship by defeating Croatia 4-2 in the final game in Moscow.

France also won the World Cup in 1998 and was the runner-up in 2006. In 2022, the French team will be in a group that consists of Denmark, Australia, and Tunisia.

Denmark is currently ranked 10th in the world and will likely be the toughest competition that France will face in the group stage. France is ranked fourth in the world according to the most recent FIFA rankings.

The team will play its first game of the tournament on November 22 against Australia at Al Janoub Stadium. If the team does win its group as expected, it would move on to play the runner-up from Group C, which would likely be Poland or Mexico. France would likely be favored in any game it plays until at least the quarterfinal or semifinal matches.
