South Korea plays November 24th and 28th and December 2nd. If they do well, they will be featured in the Round of 16. We’ll have all the details should that happen.

Team South Korea Background

South Korea national football team will begin its 2022 World Cup tournament against Uruguay on November 24th. The team will follow that up with games against Ghana and Portugal to wrap up group play. South Korea is currently favored in its game against Ghana and is the underdog in the matches against Uruguay and Portugal.

However, the Asian nation has made a habit of pulling major upsets in the group stage. In 2018, the team was ranked 57th when it defeated top-ranked Germany 2-0, which was the biggest upset in terms of ranking differential in tournament history. In 2002, South Korea was ranked 40th in the world when it defeated Italy in the knockout round. At the time, Italy was 34 spots higher than South Korea, which made it the biggest upset in terms of ranking differential in knockout round history.

The Taegeuk Warriors qualified for the 2022 World Cup after finishing second in their group during the Asian regional tournament. This is the 10th straight World Cup finals that the country has participated in after having made only one appearance prior to 1986.

South Korea is in Group H, which also includes Portugal, Ghana, and Uruguay. They will play one game each:
