In a hurry? The NASCAR Cup Series Toyota Owners 400 will be broadcast on Fox live on March 31. The cheapest way to stream Fox is with a Sling Blue plan, for just $40.00/mo. Details below!

Richmond Raceway in Richmond, Virginia, has held a spring Cup Series race since 1953, and that race has been a 400-lap contest since 1976. A D-shaped short track, its straightaway allows drivers to really get up to speed.

The date’s been moved around from February to May several times over the years, but this year it’s end of March. In addition to moving around the calendar, the Toyota Owners 400 has also bounced back and forth between afternoon and evening, even though lights were installed at the raceway in 1991. This year marks a return to racing after dark.

Lee Petty won the first NASCAR contest at this speedway, the Richmond 200 at the time. His son, Richard Petty, would go on to win it 6 times, the record for this Cup race. Kyle Larson won it last year in 2023, and Denny Hamlin the year before. Both drivers are scheduled to race at Richmond this year — will history repeat itself, or will the trophy go to someone new?
