Soccer is an increasingly popular sport in America — and no event in soccer is as big as the World Cup — especially the finals. Teams bask in the glory of even getting to the knockout phase — much less making it to the Semifinals and finals.

Team USA, as has been common in recent years, got eliminated in the first knockout stage, Round of 16, with a pretty bad beating from the Netherlands. But the USA National Team is great team. So just imagine the play in the finals!

Sling TV will allow you to watch the finals in the most economical way possible. And they provide a great overall service that is probably all you need going forward regardless of what kind of live and on-demand TV you enjoy.

How to Watch the World Cup Finals on TV

Both finals matches will be broadcast live on Fox in English. If you are looking for Spanish coverage, you’ll need Telemundo. Unfortunately, Sling TV doesn’t currently offer the channel. (Peacock provides a low-cost way to stream all the World Cup games in Spanish.)

It’s strange that Sling TV doesn’t offer Telemundo, because it does offer great Spanish programming options. See our Sling Latino review for details.

Stream the World Cup Final With Sling TV

Sling TV has an unusual approach to streaming. It starts with small base plans that you can add on to. The Sling Orange is the more limited of the two, but it comes with ESPN and Disney Channel.

You need Sling Blue for the World Cup since it comes with Fox and related TV channels. In total, you get 40+ channels including other Fox and NBC properties FS1, FX, Syfy, and USA.

The plan also includes a lot of other popular channels including Adult Swim, AMC, BET, Comedy Central, History, National Geographic, NFL Network, TBS, and TNT.

Sling TV: Best Choice for World Cup Final

When it comes to live TV streaming services, Sling TV is the only one that really gets that this is a whole new world. It isn’t necessary to do things the same as cable companies — even when you do them way better, as is the case for all the majors, DIRECTV STREAM, FuboTV, Hulu + Live TV, and YouTube TV.

But there are other, more concrete, advantages to Sling TV:

  • Inexpensive: while there are a couple of live TV streaming services that are cheaper, none of them offer high-value channels like Fox and ESPN.
  • Device support: allows you to watch on pretty much any device.
  • Antenna integration: watch local channels in the same guide as your streaming channels.
  • A la Carte Channel Selection: get fine-grain control of what channels you pay for with 40+ individual channel add-ons, language/region packages, and more.
  • On-Demand Library: Large collection of constantly changing shows and films.
  • Multiple Screens: live stream on up to 3 devices at once.
  • Cloud DVR: 50 hours of DVR storage.
