LA Bowl 2024 Online: Channels & Streaming Services NCAA Fans Need to Watch Anywhere

Last Updated:

This year Starco Brands LA Bowl hosted by Gronk, but it does prove to be one of the funniest of the college Bowl Season (at least intentionally, and yes, Cheez-It Bowl, we’re looking at you).

The second annual LA Bowl will be held at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at (EST). The Boise State will battle UCLA. Best of all, you don’t need cable to watch it!

In a hurry? The LA Bowl will air on ABC, which you can get totally free with an antenna, but is also available from any of these fine streaming services:

  • Fubo: The best streaming service for international sports also provides 150+ well-selected channels. Fubo allows you to try out its service with a free trial.
  • DIRECTV STREAM: Get a great channel lineup with the best selection of RSNs in the industry. A 5-day free trial is now available for DIRECTV STREAM.
  • Sling TV: This low-cost service allows you to select just the channel lineup you want. Save 50% on Sling TV now.

If you can’t watch your favorite sports because of your location, get ExpressVPN to access the content you deserve.

In a hurry? Unfortunately, we don’t know a streaming service in that offers this TV channel/sport. But if you’ve already paid for the right service, and just can’t watch because of your location, there is an easy way to get the sports, movies, and TV you deserve. You need a VPN, like one of the following.

ExpressVPN

1. ExpressVPN: Established VPN provider in 105 countries. Smart DNS, a built-in ad-blocker, and unlimited bandwidth. Try it with a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Private Internet Access

3. Private Internet Access: The only no-logs VPN with a location for every US state. Get 82% off + 2 months free.

If you’re overwhelmed and not sure where to begin, you’ll find all the answers in our full VPN guide.

Sling TV doesn’t actually carry ABC, but they do have ESPN3, which simulcasts all ABC live sports events.

The LA Bowl is on ABC, which is an over-the-air channel, versus a “cable” channel you need to pay a fee to a TV provider to receive. You can pick up over-the-air channels like ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox with an antenna, completely free (which is why they’re also called “free-to-air” channels, too).

But if you live out of range of your nearest ABC station, or you just don’t feel like dealing with setting up an antenna, you’ll need a streaming service that carries all your local channels. Fortunately, that’s all of the major ones.

This year the name was changed to Starco Brands LA Bowl and will be hosted by Rob Gronkowski.

LA Bowl: Online Without Cable

The LA Bowl is going to be aired live on ABC, so most people have the option to watch it for free. Just grab yourself a cheap antenna and most folks will be good to go for all their local stations: ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox, PBS, even Spanish networks like Univision and Telemundo, plus any independent stations in your area (yes, they are still around!).

But there are other options if you aren’t willing or able (for whatever reason) to use an antenna. Fubo and Sling TV are our favorites for making sure your local channels are available to you.

Streaming is a great replacement for cable and satellite, actually an upgrade for most subscribers. You have a lot more choice of services, with access to the same channels for the same cost or cheaper. You get more features, like DVR, 4K, and on-demand libraries. And all of that without any long-term contracts or commitments — you pay by the month and cancel at any time!

Boise State Broncos vs UCLA Bruins

The 2023 LA Bowl game is a matchup West Coast teams: Mountain West Conference vs Pac-12 Conference.

The Boise State Broncos had a good season ending with an overall record of 8-5 (6-2 in-conference) and winning the Mountain West Championship 44-20 over UNLV.

UCLA struggled in a strong Pac-12 Conference — featuring 4 Top 20 teams. They ended the regular season in 8th place with a 7-5 (4-5 in-conference) record.

Boise State Broncos Personnel

Andy Avalos had been Broncos head coach for three seasons but he was fired this season with two games remaining. He was replaced by defensive coordinator Spencer Danielson for the remainder of the season. Bush Hamdan is in his first season as offensive coordinator with the Broncos.

Maddux Madsen was starting quarterback but he was replaced by Taylen Green after a season-ending injury. With Green are running backs Ashton Jeanty and George Holani, wide receivers Eric McAlister, Billy Bowens, and Stefan Cobbs, and tight ends Matt Lauter and Riley Smith.

The Boise State football defense features linebackers Andrew Simpson, Marco Notarainni, and DJ Schramm, defensive backs Jaylen Clark, Ty Benefield, A’Marion McCoy, Seyi Oladipo, Alexander Teubner, and Kaonohi Kaniho, and linemen Ahmed Hassanein, Jayden Virgin, Demitri Washington, Herbert Gums, and Michael Callahan.

UCLA Bruins Personnel

Head coach Chip Kelly is in his sixth season with the Broncos. He took over a very weak program in 2018 and has turned the team around in the years since. Defensive coordinator D’Anton Lynn was just hired by USC. It isn’t clear who the coordinators are at this point.

Quarterbacks Dante Moore and Ethan Garbers have been sharing duty this season. With them are running backs Carson Steele and TJ Harden, wide receivers Logan Loya and J Michael Sturdivant, and tight end Moliki Matavao.

The defense includes linebackers Darius Muasau, Kain Medrano, and Oluwafemi Oladejo, defensive backs Jaylin Davies, Kamari Ramsey, Alex Johnson, John Humphrey, Kenny Churchwell III, Devin Kirkwood, and linemen Laiatu Latu, Carl Jones Jr, Gabriel Murphy, Jay Toia, and Grayson Murphy.
