Jacksonville Jaguars Week 2

Jacksonville lost a heartbreaker to the Miami Dolphins 17-14 on a last-second field goal. The Jaguars were either ahead or tied the entire game until the final play that determined the outcome.

It was another tough day for the offense as Trevor Lawrence completed just 12 passes for 162 yards. He had one touchdown and one interception on the day in his first game since signing a five-year contract extension worth $275 million. Travis Etienne had 44 yards on 12 carries and continues to have efficiency issues despite running behind an offensive line that was little changed from last year.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have a record of 0-1 as they enter Week 2.

Streaming has never been easier. Even if you recently had cable, it’s likely that you have some experience with streaming, even if it’s an on-demand service like Netflix.

Live TV streaming services work very similarly, using the Internet and streaming devices to allow you to watch what you want without the aid of a cable connection.

Almost all the streaming devices that are in use today are supported by all the services we discuss below. The universally supported devices are Amazon Fire TV, Android Mobile, Android TV-based smart TVs, Apple TV, Chromecast, iOS (iPhone), Roku, Samsung smart TVs, and web browsers. Xbox One gaming systems are also widely supported as are LG and Vizio smart TVs.

Two of our favorite services when it comes to sports viewing are Fubo and Hulu Live. Both options are reasonably priced and come with a variety of features and options.

Out-of-Market Jacksonville Jaguars Games

Jacksonville Jaguars fans outside its broadcast area may find it difficult to watch some games. For all the details and options, see our NFL Out-of-Market Football Games Guide.

The simplest option is to get NFL Sunday Ticket, which is available from YouTube and YouTube TV. An option we like better is to combine a VPN with a live TV streaming service. Check out ExpressVPN, which works well with services like Fubo.

About the Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars had gone a paltry 15-50 from 2018-21 before turning things around and having back-to-back winning records, both at 9-8.

The first one, in 2022, resulted in a playoff berth and a postseason win over the Chargers before a loss to the Chiefs sent them to the offseason. However, the second 9-8 mark was not good enough to get Jacksonville into the playoffs. What made that latter experience so frustrating was that the Jaguars were cruising towards those playoffs at 8-3 before four straight losses and a 1-5 finish extinguished those hopes.

Head coach Doug Pederson does have Super Bowl experience, however, having led the Eagles to a win at Super Bowl LII in his second season in Philly and as a head coach. The 2024 season will be his eighth in that role, third in Jacksonville.

As for player personnel, of course, quarterback Trevor Lawrence is the centerpiece. He is now in his fourth year as a pro, and experts, fans and others are expecting him to now turn into the player who they had anticipated him being when he was selected with the top pick of the 2021 draft.

However, there have also been plenty of changes, particularly on his offensive line and in the players who he will be throwing the ball to as well as to several elements of the team’s defense.

More specifically on the offensive side, running back Travis Etienne needs to have enough open holes to run through to allow Lawrence to thrive overall while wide receiver Gabe Davis has arrived from Buffalo ready to be an impact player as well; he will counteract the loss of Calvin Ridley, who is now with Tennessee.

Defensively, the biggest change was the hiring of former Atlanta defensive coordinator Ryan Nielsen as Jacksonville’s own. For the defense to be solid, players such as linebacker Josh Hines-Allen, defensive tackle DaVon Hamilton, and cornerback Tyson Campbell must consistently play well in Nielsen’s system.
