About Orlando Guardians
The New York Guardians had gone south and landed in central Florida for the 2023 season. As a result, they’ve moved from MetLife Stadium to Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida for their home games. It’s a convenient location since it is currently only used for the Citris and Cheez-It bowl games.
Kevin Gilbride, head coach in 2020, has retired (again). The new head coach Terrell Buckley has a lot of experience as a defensive backs coach for some of the best NCAA football teams — most recently as the cornerbacks coach at Ole Miss.
The Guardians feature a lot of talent from the NFL, USFL, and other professional football leagues they picked up during the XFL Draft. Deondre Francois joins the squad as quarterback. Kelvin Taylor will feature as running back. Veteran wide receivers Cody Latimer, Eli Rogers, and Bobo Wilson join the lineup. Ryan Becker will play tight end.
On the defensive side, the Guardians feature linebackers Terrance Plummer, Tegray Scales, and Terrance Smith. Matt Elam and Josh Harvey-Clemons are defensive backs. And Nick Coe and Gerald Willis are defensive linemen.
