The United States Football League (USFL) originally started in 1982 as a spring league to follow the NFL season. It was notable for introducing some innovations to the game that have taken hold like the two-point conversion. But it dissolved after just three seasons due to spiraling costs, over-aggressive growth, and legal issues.

But in 2022, it came back. And in 2023, the United States had two spring football leagues (the other is the XFL) — both of which featured strong players from NCAA football and new and older players from the NFL.

Channels to Watch USFL

Starting Saturday, March 30th, the UFL will feature 4 games each week for 10 weeks. There will be two games on Saturday and two games on Sunday.

For the regular season, there will be 12 in-conference USFL games and 16 inter-conference games with XFL teams. These will air on:

The USFL Conference is made up of four teams:

• Birmingham Stallions
• Houston Roughnecks
• Memphis Showboats
• Michigan Panthers

The Houston Roughnecks were part of the XFL last season. The other three teams played in the USFL last year, including the USFL champions, Birmingham Stallions.

Five USFL teams have been disbanded: Pittsburgh Maulers, Philadelphia Stars, New Jersey Generals, New Orleans Breakers, and Houston Gamblers.
