I’m excited to watch all the games in this spring football league, where the XFL now exists as one of the conferences within the new UFL structure.
In a hurry? Throughout the season, games will air on Fox, ESPN, ABC, and FS1. Here are the streaming services that give you access to these channels, so you do not miss a match.
Watch Football Live Tonight
All three services carry Football. Pick based on your budget:
Best Overall
185+ channels including Football, all major sports networks, and local channels. 7-day free trial – watch tonight, cancel anytime. Best if you want one service that “just works”, without piecing together bundles.
Carries Football from $45.99/mo – roughly half the price of Fubo. Add channel packs if you want more. The lowest-cost route for Football, if you are happy with a smaller bundle.
The UFL will feature 10 weeks of regular season play with 4 games each week: two on Saturday and two on Sunday. For the season, there will be 12 intra-conference XFL games and 16 inter-conference games with USFL teams.
To watch without cable or satellite, you’ll need a subscription to one or more streaming services that offer these channels.
Note that most people will be able to watch the 20 games for free. ABC and Fox have network affiliates all over the nation. If you invest about $30 for an indoor HD antenna, you will be able to watch every game. See our Antenna Guide for all the details.

How to Watch Your UFL Team Online
Check out our UFL team-specific streaming guides below:
Last year, the XFL was a professional football league. It ws much like the USFL. This is part of why the two leagues joined together this year to create the United Football League.
History of the XFL
The league was founded in 2001 by World Wrestling Federation (WWE) executive Vince McMahon. The aim was to bring a fun twist to the regular football game. It was to have more entertaining features. And unlike the NFL, the XFL owns all 8 teams.
Initially, ratings for the games were excellent. But after a few weeks, attention waned. End the end of the first season, the league was disbanded.
However, the XFL brought a lot of change in football game broadcasting. The NFL currently uses sky cams, records the sound when the players collide, and even permits fans to see what happens in the locker rooms.
The New XFL (2020)
In early 2018, McMahon’s new company, Alpha Entertainment, announced that the XFL would return in 2020. Although it shared the name with the 2001 league, McMahon promised that the league would be less “sports entertainment” and more of a regular sports league.
As planned, the league started in February 2020. But fate was not kind. After only five weeks of play, the season was abandoned due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Perhaps of greater concern, viewership of that last week was also down substantially from what it had been the previous four weeks.
These were the teams in the XFL for that season:
Dallas Renegades
DC Defenders
Houston Roughnecks
Los Angeles Wildcats
New York Guardians
Seattle Dragons
St Louis Battlehawks
Tampa Bay Vipers
The teams are comprised of strong NCAA football players as well as players from the NFL.
The New XFL V2
In August of 2020, a group headed by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and his ex-wife, businesswoman and bodybuilder Dany Garcia purchased the XFL. There was much activity on the business side of things over the next two years, but no games.
In July of 2022, the teams were announced with a promised season to start in early 2023. On January 5th, 2023, the final schedule was announced. It would start on February 18th. Also announced:
All 43 XFL games (40 regular season games, two playoffs, one championship) will be featured on a combination of ABC (7 games), ESPN and ESPN2 (22 games), and FX (15 games).
All XFL games will be streamed on ESPN+ and simulcasted in 142 countries around the world.
Here is a list of the 2023 teams in the same order as above:
Arlington Renegades
DC Defenders
Houston Roughnecks
San Antonio Brahmas
Orlando Guardians
Seattle Sea Dragons
St Louis BattleHawks
Vegas Vipers
XFL Conference in the UFL
There are now four teams in the XFL Conference:
Arlington Renegades
DC Defenders
San Antonio Brahmas
St Louis BattleHawks
The Houston Roughnecks joined the USFL Conference. The Orlando Guardians, Seattle Sea Dragons, and Vegas Vipers were all disbanded.
Our Choice
After testing several options, I found Fubo to be the best for streaming XFL games, especially with its impressive channel lineup and sports-focused features. It stands out with 150+ channels, including all the essential ones like Fox, ESPN, ABC, and FS1, ensuring you never miss a game. The unlimited DVR storage is a game-changer, perfect for recording multiple games at once, and you can stream on up to 10 devices—ideal for big households or sharing with friends. While it’s a bit pricier, the value is clear if you want reliability and ease of use across various devices.
