About Birmingham Stallions

The Birmingham Stallions dominated the USFL during the last two seasons, going 9-1 and 8-2 — including winning the championship both years. Now that they are in the UFL, it is likely they will continue to dominate.

Stallions Squad

The Stallions have two good quarterbacks in Matt Corral and J’Mar Smith in his third year with the team. At running back are CJ Marable, Larry Roundtree III, and Ricky Person Jr.

The Stallions have a lot of experience with wide receivers Slade Bolden, Victor Bolden Jr, Deon Cain, Gary Jennings Jr, Myron Mitchell, Amari Rodgers, and Binjimen Victor. They are also joined by younger players Kevin Austin Jr and Marlon Williams.

And there is probably more experience in the tight end spot than anywhere else with three veterans: Marcus Baugh, Jace Sternberger, and Jordan Thomas.

The Stallions defense is headed by linebackers Scooby Wright, DeMarquis Gates, Chris Orr, Chauncey Rivers, and Elijah Sullivan. And the back field is defended by Bubba Bolden, Nevelle Clarke, Mark Gilbert, Madre Harper, Chris Jackson, Kenny Robinson, and AJ Thomas.

Stallions Coaching

Skip Holtz will continue for a third year as head coach of the Stallions. With him from the beginning is defensive coordinator John Chavis. The last two seasons, Holtz also acted as offensive coordinator but this year Philip Montgomery takes over the job — fresh from Auburn.

Protective Stadium

For most of their history, the Birmingham Stallions have played their home games in Protective Stadium. It is a new stadium, opening in late 2021. It is also the home of the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Blazers and the Birmingham Bowl.
