The Vipers started the 2020 season in Tampa Bay. But for the 2023 season, they’ve moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. They will play home games at Cashman Field, which they share with the USLC’s Las Vegas Lights FC.
The Vipers are led by head coach Rod Woodson — longtime NFL player and coach. He was a safety on the 2001 Super Bowl champs Baltimore Ravens team.
Woodson leads a strong roster of former NCAA, USFL, CFL, NFL, and other professional football league members. Notable team members to show up to training camp include quarterbacks Jalan McClendon, Luis Perez, and Bryan Scott; running back DeAndre Torrey; wide receivers Jeff Badet, Saeed Blacknall, and Pittsburgh Steelers veteran Martavis Bryant; tight end Brandon Dillon (Minnesota Vikings); and linemen Jamil Demby (Los Angeles Rams), Antonio Garcia, and Avery Young.
On defense are veteran linebackers Vic Beasley (Atlanta Falcons) and Pita Taumoepenu (San Francisco 49ers); safeties Marwin Evans (Green Bay Packers) and Maurice Smith (Miami Dolphins) and cornerback Jameson Houston; and Destiny Vaeao (Philadelphia Eagles) and Robert Windsor on the line.
