30 Major League Baseball teams will play 162 games per team. Even with the obvious overlap (every game will have two teams), that’s a lot of matchups.
There are a few special agreements going on with streaming services for some games (see the FAQ for more info). As always, local teams are blacked out in their home markets (see our MLB page for more details on the complexities of baseball coverage in the United States).
But there are still plenty of MLB 2024 scheduled games across the country you can watch, and, if you like saving money, Sling TV is the place to watch them.

Sling TV has two base plans, Blue and Orange. Some channels on the MLB 2024 schedule, like TBS or MLB Network, come with either one. But some, like the rest of the channels below, are only on one or the other.
Sling Blue: Fox and NBC
Sling Blue, which by itself is $40.00/mo, has Fox and NBC in some media markets, plus their sister-channels, like FS1, Bravo, Syfy, and USA. So if you want Fox and FS1, you’ll need Sling Blue.
Sling Orange: ESPN
Sling Orange, which is also $40.00/mo by itself, has Disney-owned channels: the Disney Channel and all the ESPNs. So to watch ESPN and ESPN2, you’ll need Sling Orange.
Sports Extra: MLB Network
The MLB Network has a lot of games — you won’t want to be without it. It’s available on Sling TV through the Sports Extra add-on, which is $15/mo with Sling Orange + Blue. This will give you 18 additional sports networks, including FS2, NBA TV, more ESPNs, college sports, NFL RedZone — and MLB Network.
The Cost-Saving Math
As of this writing, Sling Orange + Blue is $55.00/mo. With the Sports Extra, it’s $70/mo. So let’s look at the competition:
- YouTube TV ($72.99/mo) doesn’t even carry MLB Network right now, nor does Hulu + Live TV.
- DIRECTV STREAM has it in its Choice Package, which starts at $108.99/mo.
- Fubo (formerly FuboTV) has it in its Fubo Extra and Sports Extra add-ons, or its Elite tier, which starts at $89.99/mo. Fubo is also missing TBS.
So you can either pay $15 more per month, or miss out on key channels.

What other streaming services do I need to watch MLB games?
In addition to regular local networks or pay channels, several on-demand streaming services have made exclusive broadcast agreements, meaning you can only watch the games streaming on their services. They are:
- Apple TV+, which holds exclusive rights to Friday Night Baseball
- ESPN+, which, like MLB Network, shows daily games.
These are all standalone services you can get for $5-$10/mo. In addition to these, TBS’s games will be simulcast for the first time on Max on the Bleacher Report Sports add-on.
When are baseball games on?
Here’s a list of which channels get which nationally-televised games. MLB Network has daily simulcasts of regional sports network broadcasts, with some games being produced in-house as well. Remember that all games are blacked out in their home markets.
- Tuesday night goes to TBS for 26 games on MLB on TBS Tuesday Night
- Apple TV+ broadcasts Friday Night Baseball.
- Fox airs Saturday games on Fox Saturday Baseball and Baseball Night in America, plus the All-Star Game and the Juneteenth game at Rickwood field.
- FS1 has a few non-exclusive games scattered throughout the week.
- ESPN gets Sunday nights, with select games on ABC or ESPN2.
