Thanksgiving has always meant special family traditions for me. My holiday memories are filled with the aroma of delicious food, time spent with loved ones, watching the parade on TV, and enjoying football games (mostly my brother’s favorite Dallas Cowboys). I have all the details on watching the games this year.
In a hurry? To watch Thanksgiving football online, you can also choose a streaming service like:
- Fubo: Get 150+ well-selected channels with a strong sports focus and all the network channels for the Thanksgiving NFL broadcast. Fubo allows you to try out its service with a free trial.
- DIRECTV STREAM: This full cable replacement service has everything you expect in its 90+-channel base plan. A 5-day free trial is now available for DIRECTV STREAM.
- Hulu + Live TV: Get the Big 4 network channels in its 95+-channel base plan along with the Hulu on-demand library, ESPN+, and Disney+. Try the Hulu Live free 3-day trial.
Each Thanksgiving football game will air on a local network affiliate. Games are airing on CBS, FOX, and NBC — all widely available from the top live TV streaming services. It’s possible to use a digital antenna to watch any of these channels assuming you are relatively close to your local affiliates’ transmitters.
Watch Thanksgiving Football Without Cable
You can watch every Thanksgiving football live stream with a digital antenna. Most areas should be able to get all three of these channels with. However, if you don’t have or want an antenna, you can stream them.

$79.99 | 150+ | CBS, FOX, NBC
$86.99 | 90+ | CBS, FOX, NBC

$45.99 | 40+ | FOX, NBC | |

Streaming Extras
All 5 of these streaming services provide apps for most devices in use today. This includes Samsung and Android TV-based smart TVs; the major stick devices Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, and Roku; and Android and iOS mobile devices. Various gaming systems (especially the Xbox) are supported by many services as are other smart TVs.
Hulu Live allows you to stream on 2 devices at the same time. Sling TV and YouTube TV allow 3, Fubo allows 10, and DIRECTV STREAM allows as many as you have bandwidth for.
Each service includes a DVR. Sling TV provides 50 hours of storage. All the others are unlimited with a 9-month limit on any given recording.
Other Streaming Services
Other streaming services offer only a single game. But given that they are inexpensive, fans of a particular team may want to use them if they aren’t planning to spend the whole day watching.
Paramount+ will allow you to watch the game on CBS. And Peacock streams the NBC game.
Thanksgiving Football Schedule 2024
Here’s a look at the Thanksgiving football schedule for Thursday, November 28, 2024 with times and channels:
- Thu Nov 28 12:30 pm: Chicago Bears at Detroit Lions (CBS)
- Thu Nov 28 4:30 pm: New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys (Fox)
- Thu Nov 28 8:20 pm: Miami Dolphins at Green Bay Packers (NBC)
Black Friday Football Schedule
Similar to last year, there is an NFL game on the day after Thanksgiving, Black Friday:
- Fri Nov 29 3:00 pm: Las Vegas Raiders at Kansas City Chiefs (Amazon Prime)
This seems to be a way to compensate for the loss of Thursday Night Football by Amazon Prime Video. And it’s a great addition to the schedule, which I expect to be a regular thing in future seasons.
Our Choice
After reviewing all the top services, I found that Fubo is the best choice for Thanksgiving football. It offers a fantastic mix of features that really set it apart. First, it delivers the big three channels—CBS, FOX, and NBC—essential for Thanksgiving games, along with a huge selection of additional channels for sports fans. The service’s streaming quality is reliable, even for the most action-packed games, and its DVR storage is unlimited, which is a big bonus for recording multiple games. Plus, it supports a wide range of devices, making it super easy to watch on your preferred screen. f you’re looking for great coverage and solid extras without breaking the bank, Fubo stands out as the winner.
