Out-of-Market Atlanta Falcons Games

ExpressVPN lets you stream NFL games from any location
ExpressVPN

If you are an Atlanta Falcons fan in the greater Georgia area, it’s easy to watch all the games live. But if you live out-of-market, the games will not necessarily be broadcast. See our NFL Out-of-Market Football Games guide on dealing with this.

There are two solutions for this. The first is to sign up for NFL Sunday Ticket.) The only problem with it is that it is fairly expensive. A cheaper option is to watch out-of-market NFL games with a VPN. We recommend ExpressVPN for this.

Atlanta Falcons Overview for 2024-25

The Atlanta Falcons are coming off three straight 7-10 seasons and have posted exactly seven wins in five of their past six campaigns, going 4-12 the other year. Fans are clamoring for improvement in 2024. Will they receive the answer to their wishes? Maybe. A couple of things intriguing them are the appointment of a new head coach and having two stellar quarterbacks on the roster.

Head coach Raheem Morris is returning to the Falcons after previously serving in various roles with the franchise from 2015-20, including as interim head coach for 11 games of Atlanta’s 2020 campaign, in which he went 4-7. His only other head coaching experience was 2009-11 with Tampa Bay, where he posted a 17-31 mark.

Morris was the defensive coordinator for the Super Bowl champions in 2021 (the Los Angeles Rams), and Zac Robinson – the assistant quarterbacks coach on that same team – will be Atlanta’s offensive coordinator in 2024. The Rams’ 2023 assistant-head-coach, Jimmy Lake, will be the Falcons’ defensive coordinator this season.

The splash offseason player signing was quarterback Kirk Cousin. The veteran has played in the NFL for 12 seasons and was named to four Pro Bowl rosters. That was then doubled with the drafting of Michael Penix Jr., who led last year’s Washington Huskies to a 14-1 record and a berth in the national championship game. Cousins is expected to start as long as he stays healthy, with the Penix signing having been done more so with an eye towards the future.

On the defensive side of the ball, Atlanta’s line is expected to be a particular strength in both quality and depth. It’s expected to be led by David Onyemata and Grady Jarrett. The linebacker corps should also impress, with 2024’s anticipated leaders to be Kaden Elliss and Arnold Ebiketie.

Younghoe Koo returns for his sixth season with the Falcons. The reliable kicker converted 32-of-37 attempts each of the past two years.

FAQs

How many championships have the Atlanta Falcons won?

The Atlanta Falcons do not have any Super Bowl trophies. They have claimed the NFC championship on two occasions, in 1998 and 2016, but the latter is painful for Falcons fans as Atlanta then blew a 28-3 lead to fall to the New England Patriots, 34-28, at Super Bowl LI. The Falcons also have six division championships, won in 1980, 1998, 2004, 2010, 2012, and 2016.

What radio stations are the Atlanta Falcons on?

The Atlanta Falcons’ radio network is based on Atlanta’s WZGC/FM 92.9 The Game. There are many affiliated stations. You can also listen to Falcons-produced broadcasts of the team’s games through a TuneIn Premium subscription. Westwood One Sports provides national radio coverage of some Atlanta Falcons games, including all playoff games. Those broadcasts can also be heard online through TuneIn Premium. You can also find Falcons games on SiriusXM NFL Radio.

How do I watch Atlanta Falcons on my phone?

Watching Atlanta play on your device is particularly easy if you’re located in Georgia, as all in-market contests can be viewed courtesy of NFL+ for $6.99/month. If you’re situated elsewhere, particularly not even in the South, you’ll need to access a general streaming service like Fubo.

Do Atlanta Falcons games sell out?

This can vary from game to game. Even if a game does sell out, you can still catch the action from out-of-market through NFL RedZone, NFL Sunday Ticket, and other options discussed above. If a game does not sell out, the NFL no longer enforces the blackout rule introduced in 1973, so you can watch in-market games as usual.

Can I watch the Falcons games live on Paramount Plus?

Paramount+ provides access to CBS programming, including live NFL games, with its Essential plan for $7.99/month. But since CBS mostly broadcasts AFC Sunday games, they do not feature the Falcons often. During the 2024-25 NFL season, only one Falcons game will appear on CBS — on Sunday, December 1st when the Falcons host the Los Angeles Chargers. That game will be available in the Georgia area and other select markets.
