Table Of Contents
If you are looking for a mainstream alternative to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), you should consider watching shows produced by All Elite Wrestling (AEW).
Dynamite is currently the promotion’s flagship show, and it is broadcast live on Wednesday nights. In addition to Dynamite, AEW produces pay-per-view (PPV) events on a regular basis throughout the year. And its most important show of the year is called All Out.
What Is AEW Dynamite?
AEW Dynamite was the first weekly show that the company produced. It airs each Wednesday on TBS at .
The program features a number of performers that casual fans likely recognize such as Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley, Cody Rhodes, and CM Punk. It also features a variety of female performers such as Dr Britt Baker, Thunder Rosa, and others who have wrestled for crowds throughout the world.
Other prominent members of AEW are Jon Moxley, Darby Allin, Hangman Page, The Inner Circle stable leader Chris Jericho, and The Elite stable members Kenny Omega, Adam Cole, and AEW World Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson).
AEW started as a result of the spectacularly successful All In PPV event. It occurred in late 2018 in Chicago at the NOW Arena. Cody & Brandi Rhodes, The Young Bucks, and others wanted to form a new wrestling enterprise. The new venture was headed by Tony Khan, who is related to Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan. And AEW formally started in early 2019.
If you happen to be in attendance for a Dynamite event, you’ll likely see matches being taped for shows such as Dark that are broadcast on YouTube. It’s also possible that you’ll be able to take part in a meet-and-greet event prior to the show. And it’s not uncommon for wrestlers to hang around after shows to sign a limited number of autographs.
Other Pro Wrestling Shows
AEW Rampage is a sister show to Dynamite. It airs on TNT on Friday nights. AEW also has two YouTube shows called Dark and Dark: Elevation that are designed to serve as developmental properties for the company.
Note that although matches that take place on Dark or Dark: Elevation are not aired on television, the results are considered canon. This means that whatever happens on these shows is included as part of a character’s story as he or she progresses through the company.
This is significantly different from how WWE treats NXT, which is its developmental brand. In most cases, when a performer is called up to Raw or Smackdown, no mention is made of what that person did before arriving on the main roster.
Where to Watch AEW Dynamite
AEW Dynamite is broadcast live each Wednesday at on TBS. (Note: contrary to some reporting, Rampage will remain on TNT for now at least.)
In general, you can’t watch AEW Dynamite over-the-air via antenna. So cord-cutters are limited to streaming services that offer TBS (and TNT if they want to watch Rampage).
How to Stream AEW Dynamite Live
One major streaming service doesn’t offer the Turner channels and so will not allow you to watch AEW Dynamite: FuboTV. However, Fubo will allow you to watch all of the WWE shows.
