As one of the biggest and most popular channels, with so many top shows and events, Fox is a vital all-rounder in TV — I can’t imagine living without it. I’ll explain how to get it free with an antenna or through almost any major streaming service, including Fubo, Sling TV, DIRECTV STREAM, and Hulu + Live TV.
In a hurry? These are my top picks for streaming Fox:
- Fubo: With 150+ channels, it offers something for everyone. Fubo allows you to try out its service with a free trial.
- DIRECTV STREAM: Provides everything you expect from cable with many options. A 5-day free trial is now available for DIRECTV STREAM.
- Sling TV: Probably the best streaming service in terms of customization with a super low price and a 50% discount on your first month!

Table Of Contents
Fox is an over-the-air (OTA) network with local affiliate stations across the US. If you’re within a region covered by one of these, you should be able to watch Fox for free with an antenna.
If you don’t want to set up an antenna, Fox is widely available on streaming services, along with other local and cable channels. Many of these come with the added bonus of providing other Fox channels such as Fox News, Fox Business, Fox Weather, and Fox Sports.
How To Stream Fox Online
Most streaming services work the same way: for a monthly fee, you get access to a package of live TV channels over the internet. Fox is available with Fubo, Sling, DIRECTV STREAM, and Hulu + Live TV.
As Fox is distributed through affiliated local channels (like the other major networks ABC, CBS, and NBC), you’ll only receive Fox if it has a contracted station in your area.
Service | Price | Channels | Reviews |
$79.99/month | 150+ | Fubo
$40.00/month | 40+ | Sling
$114.99/month | 125+ | DIRECTV
$82.99/month | 95+ | Hulu | |
$72.99/month | 100+ | YouTube |
These services all come with an unlimited cloud DVR (Sling restricts users to 50 hours, but this can be upgraded) and let you watch on multiple screens simultaneously.
All of them support most major smart TVs and TV devices, including smart TVs (eg, Android and Samsung), plug-in devices (eg, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, and Roku), and mobile devices from iOS and Android. Many work on gaming consoles too (eg, Xbox and PlayStation).
Fubo: Ideal For Fox Sports Channels
Fubo is often known for its live sports streaming. This isn’t surprising, since it was started by three friends who wanted to watch international soccer games (which I’ve found are still poorly covered on cable TV, even today). Fubo offers 50+ sports channels with its basic plan, including ESPN and the NFL Network.
Regardless of its beginnings, I’ve found Fubo to be one of the most well-rounded live TV streaming services, offering a wide range of channels such as HGTV, FX, and Disney.
Fubo’s original focus on sports means it provides access to local channels and regional sports networks (RSNs). Since Fox airs lots of sports, Fubo has Fox almost everywhere.
For $79.99/month, you get over 150+ channels, including all the main Fox cable channels: Fox News, Fox Business, FS1, and FS2. Most areas also have the other major networks: ABC, CBS, NBC, and the Spanish-language channels Telemundo, Universo, UniMas, and Univision.
Fubo streams on most smart TVs and mobile devices, and I’ve even watched it with an Xbox. The base plan comes with 1,000 hours of DVR recording time and the ability to stream on up to ten screens simultaneously.
Local Channels | ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC, Telemundo |
Fox Cable Channels | Fox Business, Fox News, FS1, FS2 |
Total Channels | 150+ |
Cloud DVR | Unlimited (9-month cap) |
Simultaneous Screens | 10 |
Free Trial | ✅ |

Sling TV: Stream Fox at the Lowest Price
Regarding low-cost streaming, it’s hard to beat Sling TV. It offers two plans for $40.00/month each (or $55.00/month together). There are two ways to get Fox with Sling TV: streaming or via antenna.
The Sling Blue plan includes local Fox and NBC affiliates in select markets. What are these? They offer Fox in 18 markets:
- East
- Atlanta (WAGA)
- Chicago (WFLD)
- Detroit (WJBK)
- Gainesville (WOGX)
- Milwaukee (WITI)
- New York (WNYW)
- Orlando (WOFL)
- Philadelphia (WTXF)
- Tampa (WTVT)
- Washington, DC (WTTG)
- West
- Austin (KTBC)
- Dallas (KDFW)
- Houston (KRIV)
- Los Angeles (KTTV)
- Minneapolis (KMSP)
- Phoenix (KSAZ)
- San Francisco (KTVU)
- Seattle (KCPQ)
Sling Blue comes with 40+ other channels besides Fox. These include Fox News and Fox Sports 1 (FS1). If you want Fox Business, you can get it as part of the News Extra add-on for $6/mo. And you can get FS2 with the Sports Extra add-on for $11/mo. That would total $57/mo for 50+ channels, including NFL RedZone.
Fox with OTA Antenna and Sling TV
If you don’t live in one of the areas listed above, you can still get Fox with Sling TV. Its app is designed so the local channels picked up with your antenna appear in your Sling TV guide. This is the only service I’m aware of that offers this kind of integration.
And if you sign up for two or three months, Sling TV provides a compatible antenna for a reduced cost (and sometimes even for free).
Here are the details of Sling TV’s offerings:
Local Channels | NBC, Fox |
Fox Cable Channels | Fox News, FS1 |
Total Channels | 40+ |
Cloud DVR | 50 hours |
Simultaneous Screens | 3 |
Free Trial | ❌ |
Sling TV Monthly Price | $40.00/month |

DIRECTV STREAM: Great Local Channels Including Fox
If you are skeptical of cord-cutting, DIRECTV STREAM has a reliable reputation. It’s a bit more expensive than other streaming services but provides a solid selection of channels and technology.
For $86.99/month, DIRECTV STREAM offers 125+ channels. In almost all areas, this includes the local affiliates of all the networks, including Fox. This plan also offers several less common affiliates such as Univision and The CW.
DIRECTV STREAM features wide support for smart TVs and mobile devices. It also provides unlimited cloud DVR storage and simultaneous streams, which makes it particularly useful for large households.
Local Channels | ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox |
Fox Cable Channels | Fox Business, Fox News, FS1 |
Total Channels | 125+ |

Hulu + Live TV: Stream Fox Live Along With Great On-Demand Channels

Hulu Live offers 95+ channels for $82.99/month. You get local network affiliates ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox in almost all locations. If Fox isn’t available with the other streaming services in your area, there’s a high chance you can still get it with Hulu.
Hulu + Live TV offers unlimited cloud DVR (9-month storage) and simultaneous streaming on two devices. It supports most smart TVs, mobile devices, and game consoles.

Other Ways to Stream Fox
There are a couple of options for streaming Fox without cable:
- YouTube TV: For $72.99/month, you get a full-service live TV streaming service with 100+ channels, including local ones. Read our full YouTube TV review for more.
- FoxNow: This app allows you to watch Fox live and on-demand, but you have to sign in with a service that provides TV Everywhere access.
How to Get Fox via TV Antenna
Fox is available in most areas via an antenna. Enter your address into the FCC’s app DTV Reception Maps and you’ll see all the local stations and their signal strengths within your area.
Setting up an antenna is easy if you can get Fox where you live.
