The Baylor Bears men’s basketball team had a breakthrough season in 2020-21. They advanced to the Final Four for just the third time in school history and for the first time since 1950.
And they claimed two wins there to secure the school’s first national championship in this sport and just its fifth overall. Baylor’s women’s basketball team won titles in 2005, 2012, and 2019 while its men’s tennis squad did so in 2004.
As a result, interest in this team has grown far beyond its campus in Waco, Texas. Fortunately, cord cutters can easily watch all or nearly all of its games. Simply put, ensure that you have access to ESPN-, CBS-, and Turner-related channels and streams, and you should be set.

Which Channels Show Baylor Men’s Basketball Games?
For the 2021-22 season, all of Baylor’s men’s basketball team’s games are broadcast or streamed on ESPN-related outlets. Any NCAA Tournament games will be broadcast on CBS or Turner Sports channels.
However, do note that several of the team’s games are exclusively available through ESPN+ ($10.99/month). During the 2021-22 regular season, this applies to 11 of the team’s 31 contests, more than a third of them, including match-ups with Stanford, TCU, and Oklahoma and both games with Kansas State.
With that said, all Big 12 Tournament games are expected to be broadcast on a television channel.
As for the non-ESPN+ regular-season games, all of them this season will be on ESPN-related channels: ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPNU. So, if you are a Baylor Bears men’s basketball fan simply looking to get through the regular season, get yourself access to those channels and ESPN+, and you will be set.
However, everything changes once the NCAA Tournament commences. None of those games will be shown on any ESPN-affiliated channels and will instead be broadcast on ones affiliated with CBS and Turner Sports: CBS, TBS, TNT, and truTV. The Final Four is on TBS in even years, on CBS in odd years.
How to Live Stream Baylor Men’s Basketball Games
Several streaming services provide you with the ability to watch Baylor men’s basketball games.
Fubo (formerly FuboTV)
Fubo ($79.99/month) is likely not what you want to utilize if Baylor men’s basketball broadcasts are your focus or even March Madness in general. That is because it does not offer TBS, TNT, or truTV with any of its plans or add-ons. That means that if Baylor plays in the Final Four in an even year, you would not be able to watch it through Fubo.
If you simply want to focus on Baylor’s regular season and any CBS-broadcast postseason games, get ESPN+ ($10.99/month) and Fubo’s base plan for access to CBS, ABC, ESPN, and ESPN2. Its Fubo Extra add-on ($7.99/mo) or Sports Plus with NFL RedZone add-on ($10.99/mo) is necessary to add ESPNU to that group.
Read our Fubo review for more details.
DIRECTV STREAM
DIRECTV STREAM (formerly AT&T TV) offers several sports networks for you to watch the Bears. ESPNU is not available through its Entertainment plan ($86.99/month). To get that channel as well, you would need to upgrade to its Choice plan ($114.99/month), plus you will need ESPN+ ($10.99/month) for complete Baylor game coverage.
Our DIRECTV STREAM review has more.
Sling TV
By purchasing Sling TV’s Orange plan ($40.00/month), you receive access to ESPN, ESPN2, TBS, and TNT. The Sports Extra add-on ($11/mo) gets you ESPNU. However, truTV, which may broadcast up to three of Baylor’s possible NCAA Tournament games, is only available through its Blue plan ($50/mo for combined Orange and Blue plan).
Streams of regular-season games broadcast on ABC are available through ESPN3, which comes with the Orange plan, but you must get ESPN+ ($10.99/month) to watch 11 of Baylor’s games in 2021-22. Also, if you do not have an antenna and television, you would need to watch CBS broadcast games through a Paramount+ subscription ($4.99/mo).
For more information, see our Sling TV review. We also have a guide to March Madness coverage and schedule.
Hulu + Live TV
Arguably your best option is Hulu + Live TV ($82.99/month). It offers every channel that is broadcasting Baylor men’s basketball games in the 2021-22 regular season — ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPNU. And it offers all the channels that will broadcast any NCAA Tournament games that the team plays – CBS, TBS, TNT, and truTV.
Hulu also offers ESPN+ directly or with the Hulu, Disney+, ESPN+ bundle ($14.99/month). So, your total cost would be $82.99/month, and you would have everything that you need in one place. It also comes with unlimited cloud DVR (9 months of storage)and the ability to stream on up to two devices.
See our Hulu + Live TV review for more information.
YouTube TV
Like Hulu + Live TV and DIRECTV STREAM, YouTube TV ($82.99/month) offers all of the channels that are showing Baylor men’s basketball games during the 2021-22 season. You would simply need to pair a subscription to that with ESPN+ ($10.99/month) for complete access.
Check out our YouTube TV review.
ESPN+
ESPN+ ($10.99/month) provides not only coverage of a significant number of Baylor men’s basketball games, but it also streams other men’s basketball games being played in the Big 12, AAC, MAC, Ivy League, Missouri Valley, C-USA, and numerous other conferences. That is combined with it offering access to events such as UEFA Champions League matches, NHL games, and Wimbledon.
You can also get the Hulu, Disney+, ESPN+ bundle for $14.99/month, which includes the Hulu on-demand service. See our ESPN+ review for more details.
Paramount+
Paramount+ ($7.99/month) streams all CBS-broadcast NCAA Tournament games that Baylor may play in, but that is the extent of its usefulness for Baylor men’s basketball fans, at least in the 2021-22 season.
See our Paramount+ review.
Antenna
With a digital antenna, you can watch infrequent Baylor men’s basketball games. During the 2021-22 season, that includes a home game with Villanova on Dec 12, which is on ABC, while some NCAA Tournament games may be on CBS. Remember that the Final Four is only on CBS in odd years.
Streaming Devices to Watch Baylor Sports
All of the streaming services we’ve discussed support most of the streaming devices that are currently in use. But let’s focus just on Hulu + Live TV and ESPN+. They both support the following devices:
- Smart TVs: Samsung and Android TV-based units
- TV Connected Devices: Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Roku, and Chromecast
- Mobile Devices: Android and iOS
- Gaming Systems: Xbox One, PlayStation.
They both provide support for other devices. For complete details for them and the other streaming services, see the individual reviews linked to above.
The Growth of Baylor Men’s Basketball
The Bears had been steadily building to this point, ever since Scott Drew took the program’s helm in 2003. His first three seasons there were, to be blunt, horrible: 8-21, 9-19, and 4-13.
However, he and his team had a historic breakthrough in 2007-08, being selected to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1987-88. Two years after that, Baylor found itself in the Elite Eight.
More solid years followed: NCAA Tournament appearances in six of the eight seasons from 2011-12 to 2018-19, and one of the other two campaigns resulted in an NIT championship.
However, the 2019-20 season was when the Bears really broke through, albeit not in the postseason, which was canceled. They had a 26-4 regular season and were widely expected to be one of the top seeds in the NCAA Tournament prior to its cancelation.
The final step was taken in 2020-21: a 28-2 campaign that was capped off with a 78-59 win over Houston and an 86-70 defeat of Gonzaga.
They have had an exceptional performance in the 2022-2023 season and are currently ranking top 10 as well as being 4th in the Big 12 Conference standings.
The team home games are played at Ferrell Center on the Baylor University campus until 2023 but they now moved to Foster Pavilion.
Baylor MBB team includes Keyonte George (total points leader), Flo Thamba, Adam Flagler (assists), LJ Cryer, Dale Bonner (steals), Jalen Bridges (rebounds), Caleb Lohner, Ja’Kobe Walter, Jayden Nunn, and Josh Ojianwuna.
Some women’s team players are Sarah Andrews, Caitlin Bickle, Ja’Mee Asberry, Jaden Owens, Darianna Littlepage-Buggs, Bella Fontleroy, Aijha Blackwell, and Kendra Gillispie.

Other Baylor Sports
Media entities and college conferences tend to make agreements that encompass all sports, and that is true for the Big 12 as well. As a result, you can also watch numerous other Baylor sports teams play through ESPN+ ($10.99/month).
At least three Baylor football games were exclusively on ESPN+ in 2021 while the powerhouse Baylor women’s basketball squad has 19 regular-season games on ESPN+ in 2021-22 and possibly one or more Big 12 Tournament games through that service as well. A significant percentage of contests played by Baylor’s other sports teams – eg, women’s soccer and baseball – are available on ESPN+ as well.
Football fans should keep in mind that some Baylor football games are instead shown on Fox and Fox Sports 1 (FS1) while televised Baylor women’s basketball games are generally shown on ESPN outlets.
Summing Up
If you want to watch Baylor men’s basketball, you need to garner access to one or more streaming services that offer ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, CBS, TBS, TNT, and truTV to ensure the ability to watch games through March. Our top choice is Hulu + Live TV.
A number of regular-season Baylor men’s basketball games appear on ESPN+. You can get this as a standalone service or with the Hulu bundle.
FAQs
How can I watch Baylor women’s basketball games?
How to watch Baylor women’s basketball games is similar to how you would go about watching the school’s men’s basketball team play as the vast majority of that team’s games are also on ESPN+, ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPNU. However, some exceptions to that general rule are in place for the 2021-22 season.
An away game versus Maryland is slated for Big Ten Network coverage. Three games in Cancun, Mexico, are being streamed by FloHoops. And a contest at Oklahoma is being broadcast on Bally Sports Oklahoma. Also, ESPN holds broadcasting and streaming rights for all NCAA Tournament games on the women’s side.
