The Miami Hurricanes basketball teams may not have the reputation that the school’s football and baseball programs do, but they are always striving for improvement and ultimately initial Final Four appearances.
Are you looking to catch these South Florida hoopsters in action? ESPN will be responsible for overseeing most of the television broadcasts and online streams related to both programs.
The competitors for 2024 March Madness have been announced. Neither the Miami Hurricanes’ men’s and women’s teams made the cut. That isn’t surprising for the men’s team who had a very weak season.
But the women did all right. If they had performed better in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) tournament, they probably would have made the cut.

Channels to Watch Miami Hurricanes Basketball
If you are looking to watch the Miami Hurricanes play at the Watsco Center and when those teams go on the road, securing access to ESPN-related channels and streams will ensure that you can enjoy the vast majority of both squads’ games.
However, note that you specifically need to subscribe to the ACC Network, or you will miss out on a number of them. Doing so will also grant you access to ACC Network Extra (ACCNX), which is where online-only streams of similar contests are viewable.
Also take into account that the ACC on Regional Sports Networks (ACC RSN) broadcasts several games, particularly in men’s hoops. This is a group of regional sports networks that includes Bally Sports Sun, Bally Sports Florida, Bally Sports Southeast, Bally Sports South, Bally Sports Midwest, YES Network, NESN, MASN, and Marquee. If you are in-market for one of those or another ACC RSN outlet, that is generally where you can see the relevant Hurricanes game. If you are not, it will be available through ACCNX.
ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPNU also showcase Miami games. ABC is another possibility, but it did not pick up any contests played by either of this school’s basketball teams during their 2023-24 seasons.
Non-conference games played away from Coral Gables may be available through other outlets as the host entity is responsible for television and streaming rights. For example, Miami’s women’s team’s away game against DePaul on November 20, 2022 was streamed by FloSports. After the regular season, keep in mind that any NCAA Tournament games that are played by the men’s team will be on CBS, TBS, TNT, or truTV.
How to Watch Miami Hurricanes Basketball with Streaming Services
Most Hurricanes games appear on ESPN channels. That means you have a lot of choices for streaming them:
Fubo (formerly FuboTV): This service provides a broad selection of 150+ channels with a strong sports focus with plans starting from $79.99/month. (Fubo review)
Sling TV: Start with Sling Orange ($45.99/month) and add Sports Extra ($11/mo) to get all the ESPN channels along with others like NFL RedZone and NBA TV. (Sling TV review) (March Madness coverage and schedule)
DIRECTV: Get everything you expect from cable and more with packages starting at $59.99/month. (DIRECTV review)
YouTube TV: Comes with over 100 channels for $82.99/month.
All streaming services come with cloud DVR storage. Similarly, all the services allow you to watch on multiple devices at one time — except for Sling TV, which limits you to one to keep costs down.
And these days, you can live stream on apps for pretty much every device. These include Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku, and web browsers. If you are on the go, you can stream on smartphones and tablets. And Fubo, Sling, Hulu, and YouTube allow you to stream on a number of smart TVs and gaming units.
Both Miami Hurricanes basketball teams play at the Watsco Center.
This 7,972-seat venue opened in 2003 and allowed the men’s program to have an on-campus home. It had played at Miami Arena in downtown Miami, 10 miles to the northeast of the school, since 1988. The women’s program had been playing its games at the smaller on-campus Knight Sports Complex prior to its move.
Miami’s biggest sporting rivals are Florida State and Florida. The FSU Seminoles are a conference foe, so they and the Hurricanes meet regularly. Florida is not, so their meetings are more sporadic. Miami’s men last played Florida in 2019-20 while the Hurricane women did face the Gators in 2022-23, but that was their first meeting since 2009-10.
Miami Hurricanes Men’s Basketball
The men’s program at the University of Miami had its most significant postseason run in 2023, reaching the Final Four for the first time in school history. This came the year after their first trip to the Elite Eight. They had previously made it to the Sweet 16 in 2000, 2013, and 2016 while appearances in the round of 32 also occurred in 1999 and 2008.
The Hurricanes’ squad is led by Bensley Joseph (steals leader), Norchad Omier (points, blocked shots, rebounds leader), Kyshawn George, Michael Nwoko, Matthew Cleveland, Wooga Poplar, Nijel Pack (assists leader), AJ Casey, and Christian Watson. Jim Larrañaga is in his 13th season as head coach.
A couple of the best players in this program’s history were Rick Barry and Tim James.
Head coach Jim Larrañaga has led the Hurricanes for 13 seasons.

Miami Hurricanes Women’s Basketball
Miami’s women’s team has not had much success although there is hope that this will change in the near future. Entering the 2023-24 season, the Hurricanes have made March Madness 16 times. Last year, they made it to the Elite Eight — their best performance yet.
The Hurricanes squad consists of Jaida Patrick, Shayeann Day-Wilson (points, assists leader), Kyla Oldacre, Lashae Dwyer, Jasmyne Roberts, Lazaria Spearman (rebounds leader), Ja’Leah Williams (steals leader), Latasha Lattimore (block shots leader), Ally Stedman, and Lemyah Hylton.
Historically, some of the best players to put on this jersey were Tamara James, Octavia Blue, Maria Rivera, and Frances Savage.
Katie Meier is in her 19th season as the Hurricanes head coach.
After exploring various streaming services, I found that Fubo offers the most comprehensive package for Miami Hurricanes basketball fans. With over 150 channels, including all the essential ESPN networks, Fubo ensures you won’t miss a game. Its user-friendly interface and reliable streaming quality make navigating live games and replays a breeze. The cloud DVR feature is a standout, allowing you to record games and watch them at your convenience. Fubo’s compatibility with a wide range of devices means you can catch the action whether you’re at home or on the go. For an all-in-one solution that caters to sports enthusiasts, Fubo is the way to go.
