Where to Watch Alabama Football Games

The SEC (Southeastern Conference) no longer has a television deal with CBS, so Crimson Tide games will not be found there. Walt Disney Television continues to air Alabama games. The arrangement results in conference games and home, non-conference match-ups being shown on ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, and SEC Network.

Fox Sports is also broadcasting SEC games so Fox will air at least one Crimson Tide game this season.

On rare occasions, the Crimson Tide may be shown on a different channel. This is only possible for non-conference away or neutral-site games, as all bowl games with SEC ties are shown on ABC, ESPN, and ESPN2.

How to Stream Alabama Crimson Tide Football Games

Due to the considerable national interest Alabama garners, several of the team’s games are shown on network television – usually ESPN and its related channels (including ABC), but sometimes Fox.

This means you don’t even need a streaming service subscription to see the team play several times a season: you can just set up a digital antenna and watch on local ABC and Fox stations for free.

You’ll most likely want a streaming service though, as all NCAA football playoff games – the most important ones that Bama plays – are broadcast on ESPN.

Fubo

It does have one significant caveat though.

The SEC Network is included in its base plan for those situated in the Southeast, but you’ll need to purchase it as an add-on if you’re located in other regions of the country.

If you are in the latter category, your options are the Fubo Extra add-on ($7.99/mo) with 50+ extra channels, the Sports Plus with NFL RedZone add-on ($10.99/mo) with 25+ extra channels, or the Sports Lite add-on ($9.99/mo) with 8 extra channels.

Subscribers also get unlimited cloud DVR storage and the ability to watch on ten devices/TVs simultaneously.

For all the details, see our Fubo review.

To get FOX, you will need to upgrade to the Sling Orange & Blue plan. Note that FOX is only available in select markets.

Our Sling TV guide explains everything.

You should also opt for the Choice plan if you want an extensive selection of college football games being played elsewhere, as this will provide you with the ACC Network, Big Ten Network, and ESPNU. An additional upgrade, to its Ultimate plan ($129.99/month), will allow you to watch CBS Sports Network and FS2 as well.

If you want to check out college football games played by other teams as well, it offers the ACC Network, Big Ten Network, CBS Sports Network, ESPNU, Fox Sports 1 (FS1), and Fox Sports 2 (FS2) as well. Meanwhile, NFL fans will likely gravitate towards its NFL Network.

Hulu Live comes with unlimited cloud DVR (9-month storage) and the ability to stream on up to two devices at once.

See our Hulu + Live TV review for all the details.

Alabama Football

The University of Alabama plays its home games at historic Bryant-Denny Stadium and is led by first-year head coach Kalen DeBoer. DeBoer was the head coach of the Washington Huskies in 2023 and was the head coach at Fresno State before that. Nick Sheridan is the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach while Kane Wommack will serve as defensive coordinator.

The Crimson Tide finished the 2023 season 12-2 and made an appearance in the Rose Bowl, which was also the semifinal of the College Football Playoff (CFP). Alabama lost 30 players in the transfer portal this year including quarterback Julian Sayin, who was the top QB in his class.

The majority of the transfers came after longtime coach Nick Saban announced his retirement shortly after the Rose Bowl. Saban finished his career at Alabama with 206 wins including 16 bowl victories, which was first all-time in school history ahead of Paul “Bear” Byrant.

However, they did get Washington QB Austin Mack in the portal to replace Sayin. Mack had 40 touchdowns with just five interceptions last season, and there are high hopes that he can lead the Crimson Tide to another strong performance in the SEC. Alabama should have little trouble becoming bowl eligible thanks partially to a nonconference schedule that includes Mercer, Western Kentucky and South Florida.

Although this may be somewhat of a rebuilding year for Alabama, they are still regarded as one of the top programs in the country. Coming into this season, they have laid claim to 18 national championships with their most recent coming in 2020.

The Crimson Tide have played in a bowl game every season since the 2004 campaign. And high expectations are in place for the Tide this season: an SEC championship and a national title.

The program has also produced a number of NFL players such as Joe Namath, Derrick Thomas and Ken Stabler, who are all in the NFL Hall of Fame. There are also dozens of players from Alabama in the NFL today including Houston Texans defensive end Will Andersen, Detroit Lions safety Brian Branch, and Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper.
