Toledo Rockets vs Wyoming Cowboys

The 2023 Barstool Sports Arizona Bowl features bowl-eligible teams from the Mid-American Conference (MAC) and the Mountain West Conference (MWC). Specifically: the Toledo Rockets and the Wyoming Cowboys. The game is expected to be close.

The Rockets dominated the MAC with a record of 11-2. Their in-conference regular season record was 8-0. (They lost the MAC Championship 14-23 to Miami (OH) — despite beating them earlier in the season.)

The Cowboys finished the season 8-4 (5-3 in-conference). This was good enough for fifth place in the MWC.

Toledo Rockets Personnel

Head coach Jason Candle has been with the Rockets for the past 8 seasons. With him are offensive coordinators Mike Hallett and Robert Weiner and defensive coordinators Vince Kehres, Ross Watson, and Craig Kuligowski.

Quarterback Dequan Finn is transferring so sophomore Tucker Gleason will be leading the Rockets’ offense. With him are running back Peny Boone, wide receivers Jerjuan Newton and Junior Vandeross III, and tight end Anthony Torres.

On defense are linebackers Dallas Gant, Daniel Bolden, D’Andre Ragin, Terrance Taylor, Jeremiah Peters, Deshawn Holt, and Adrian Woliver, defense backs Quinyon Mitchell, RJ Delancy III, Chris McDonald, Zachary Ford, Maxen Hook, Emmanuel McNeil-Warren, and Nate Bauer, and linemen Judge Culpepper, Darius Alexander, and Cavon Butler.

Wyoming Cowboys Personnel

Craig Bohl is in his tenth year as head coach for the Cowboys. The Arizona Bowl will be his last game before retirement. With him are offensive coordinator Tim Polasek and defensive coordinator Jay Sawvel.

Quarterback Andrew Peasley leads the offense along with running back Harrison Waylee, wide receivers Wyatt Wieland and Ayir Asante, and tight end John Michael Gyllenborg.

The Wyoming defense features linebackers Easton Gibbs and Shae Suiaunoa, defensive backs Jakorey Hawkins, Isaac White, Tyrecus Davis, Wyett Ekeler, and Wrook Brown (Kolbey Taylor is transferring), and linemen Jordan Bertagnole, Sabastian Harsh, DeVonne Harris, and Braden Siders.

Our Choice

I tried out a bunch of streaming services, and Fubo came out on top for watching the Arizona Bowl. It’s got The CW, over 150 channels, and streaming that doesn’t freeze up – even during big games. The cloud DVR with tons of storage is a lifesaver if you want to catch the action later, and it’s super easy to use on just about any device, from Fire TVs to phones. If you’re all about sports and want something that’s simple, reliable, and packed with value, Fubo is a no-brainer.
