Georgia Southern and Ohio will face off on Saturday, December 16th, with kickoff set for . Georgia Southern Eagles vs Ohio Bobcats
The 2023 Myrtle Beach Bowl features a matchup between the Sun Belt and Mid-Atlantic (MAC) conferences.
The Georgia Southern Eagles qualified despite a poor regular season leaving them in last-place finish in the East Division of the Sun Belt Conference. They did however manage a 6-6 record (only 3-5 in-conference, however).
The Ohio Bobcats did much better, finishing second in the East Division (third overall) of the MAC. They managed a 9-3 record (6-2 nonconference).
This game is the only postseason appearance for either team this year.

Clay Helton is in his second season as the head coach of the Eagles. He is supported by offensive coordinator Bryan Ellis and defensive coordinator Brandon Bailey.

Tim Albin has been with Ohio since 2005 but only became head coach in 2021. He is joined with offensive coordinators Scott Isphording and Allen Rudolph along with defensive coordinator Spence Nowinsky.
