How to Watch the Super Bowl Live
Times are good for cord-cutters. And that’s especially true when it comes to major events like the Super Bowl.
Live TV Streaming Services
You can watch the game using a variety of streaming services, which not only provide local channels but also cable TV channels. OTA channels like CBS are available with most major providers.
Fubo Provides All Super Bowl LVIII Channels
The Fubo (formerly FuboTV) base service package starts at $79.99/month and offers well over 130 channels including local (ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC, and others) as well as a decent selection of regional sports networks. This is in addition to its national sports channels like CBS Sports Network, ESPN, ESPN2, FS1, FS2, and a couple dozen beIN Sports and TUDN channels.
All English plans come with unlimited cloud DVR and the ability to stream on up to 10 devices at once. You can find all the details in our Fubo review.
DIRECTV STREAM: Get All Super Bowl LVIII Channels
The DIRECTV STREAM Entertainment package starts at $86.99/month, which represents a full-cable replacement service with roughly 80 channels.
For $114.99/month, you can upgrade to the DIRECTV STREAM Choice package, which offers access to a variety of additional national channels and the best selection of regional sports networks in the industry.
You get unlimited cloud DVR storage with DIRECTV STREAM, as long as you sign up online. It also provides you with streaming on unlimited devices. See our DIRECTV STREAM review for all the details.
Hulu + Live TV: Get Super Bowl on CBS and Nickelodeon
Hulu + Live TV allows you to watch live sporting events that air on channels such as NBC and NBC Universo.
The live TV package costs $82.99/month for 85+ live TV channels. This selection closely mirrors what you’d expect from a cable subscription. And, as a bonus, you get Disney+ and ESPN+ included in your subscription.
It also includes an unlimited cloud DVR with nine months of storage and simultaneous streaming on two devices.

Other Options to Stream Super Bowl LVIII
There are other options for streaming the Super Bowl:
- Paramount+: Paramount+ is the new version of CBS All Access, so it’s no surprise that it will let you stream Super Bowl LVIII live. Plans start at $7.99/month. Our Paramount+ review has more information.
- YouTube TV: Offers a very similar service to Hulu + Live TV, including all the Super Bowl channels in its base lineup. See our YouTube TV review for more.
- NFL+: This $6.99/month subscription offers local and primetime games — including the Super Bowl. Note that live games are only on your phone, and cannot be cast to a bigger screen. You also can’t watch live on NFL.com. Check out our NFL+ review for more details.
Super Bowl LVIII for Free: Set up a Digital Antenna
CBS has affiliates all over the nation that will be broadcasting the game over the air (OTA). This means – assuming you are reasonably near a tower (and almost everyone in the US is) – you can watch the Super Bowl for free.
Since TV went digital, antennas have come a long way from providing the low-resolution, static-filled screens they used to. You can now pick up crystal-clear, high-definition signals with modern antennas that will look great on your big-screen TV.
If you want to go with an antenna, we recommend signing up with Sling TV. If you pay for three months of service, they’ll give you an indoor HD antenna and AirTV 2 for just $49.00 (normally $149.94). Alternatively, you can get the same antenna with the AirTV Anywhere for $99.00 (normally $244.98), which comes with its own DVR.
With either of these, you’ll be able to receive all your OTA channels in the same guide that shows your streaming channels. It’s really the way to go.

Fubo will be streaming the game in 4K. But you will need to sign up for at least its Elite plan.

Super Bowl LVIII Analysis
As always, the Super Bowl pits the AFC Championship winner against the NFC Championship winner. Over the year, the two conferences have prevailed almost equally but this is largely due to a 13-year NFC run from Super Bowl XIX. The AFC has won 6 of the last 10 encounters. But no one thinks this is causal.
Here are the results of the 2024 Conference Championships:
- AFC Championship Game: Kansas City Chiefs (17) at Baltimore Ravens (10)
- NFC Championship Game: Detroit Lions (31) at San Francisco 49ers (34)
Super Bowl LVIII features the return of two of the top 4 teams from last year. The 49ers lost in the NFC Championship and the Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl.
The Chiefs were originally a 3-point underdog in this game. But the line has changed a lot over the last week. Many see the game as effectively even. But the consensus is currently that the 49ers will win by 2 points.
Some people are using AI to predict the game, and this has given many Kansas City fans hope, since the consensus there seems to be a close game with the Chiefs winning.
The game also has Over/Under of 47.5 points. All of this means that the oddsmakers (and AIs) expect this game to feature a lot of offense and to be pretty close. In other words, it should be a good game.
Looking at the teams, it’s hard to disagree. The Chiefs have an excellent passing offense. They struggle running the ball, however. This could be to their advantage. The 49ers have a great run defense but haven’t been covering the pass that well. So we expect a lot of passing from the Chiefs.
On the other side, the 49ers have great passing and running offenses. The Chiefs have a great passing defense but struggle against the run. This would indicate a running game from the 49ers but with their many passing weapons like Brock Purdy, Deeboo Samuel, George Kittle, and Christian McCaffrey, expect to see a lot of that too.
