What TV Channels Offer the Atlanta Hawks Live Stream?

Most of the Hawks games will air on the regional sports network (RSN) Bally Sports Southeast. This is where local fans will be able to find Hawks games, and they can get this channel from Fubo and DIRECTV STREAM.

Bally Sports Southeast covers Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, South Carolina, and parts of North Carolina.

Those outside the Hawks’ broadcast area (so can’t receive Bally Sports Southeast), but are elsewhere in the USA, can watch these games with NBA League Pass. This is also available from Fubo and DIRECTV STREAM, as well as Sling TV.

A number of NBA games also air on national TV channels — specifically ABC, ESPN, TNT, and NBA TV. The Atlanta Hawks will be featured on 15 nationally televised games during the 2023-24 season:

  • ABC – 0 games
  • ESPN – 3 games
  • NBA TV – 10 games
  • TNT – 2 games

How to Watch the Atlanta Hawks Online Without Cable

For local Atlanta Hawks fans, we recommend signing up for a Fubo plan or the DIRECTV STREAM Choice plan. These both provide access to the Bally Sports channels that provide coverage of most games. They also provide the channels needed to watch the nationally televised games (with just one exception: Fubo doesn’t offer TNT).

If you are fine with watching only nationally televised games, then Sling TV is a great choice, since you get ESPN, ESPN3 (ABC Sports), and TNT with Sling’s Orange plan for $40.00/mo, plus NBA TV with the Sports Extra add-on for $11/mo more.

And if you’re out-of-market, you can also add NBA League Pass to a Sling TV plan and get all the Hawks local games too. (See our Atlanta Braves Out-of-Market Guide.)

Signup for these services is easy, and none of them come with contracts, so you’re free to cancel whenever you want. Watching TV is then as easy as turning on your streaming device and connecting it to the internet.

Sling TV is a great option for two kinds of fans:

FAQs

This season, 15 Atlanta Hawks games will appear on national television channels, which you can get via general streaming services such as Sling TV.

Local fans can stream all the games with Bally Sports Southeast, which is available via Fubo ($94.98/mo) and the DIRECTV STREAM Choice plan ($108.99/mo).

Fans outside the blackout area can get these games with NBA League Pass ($14.99/mo) instead.

What channels do the Atlanta Hawks play on?

About a fifth of the Atlanta Hawks regular-season games are nationally televised. In the 2023-24 season, they will appear three times on ESPN, twice on TNT, and ten times on NBA TV.

Blackouts will apply to these games. Bally Sports Southeast will air 80 of the 82 Hawks regular-season games.

How can I listen to the Atlanta Hawks game?

All 82 Atlanta Hawks games can be heard on Atlanta-based FM 92.9 “The Game.” These games are simulcast on radio stations throughout Georgia and into Alabama.

If you are outside this region but have an internet connection, you can also listen through The Game page on Audacy.

Where were the Hawks before they came to Atlanta?

The Hawks started as the Buffalo Bisons in 1946. They only lasted a month here though, before moving to Moline, Illinois, where they became the Tri-Cities Blackhawks. This makes them one of the original teams that formed the NBA in 1949.

In 1951, they moved to Milwaukee and changed their name to the Hawks, moving to St Louis in 1955 before finally landing in Atlanta in 1968.

Where do Atlanta Hawks play?

Atlanta Hawks play at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. This has been their home arena since 1999, though it was known as the Philips Arena until 2018.

The Hawks have called several other arenas their home prior to Atlanta, including Buffalo Memorial Auditorium, Wharton Field House, St. Louis Arena, and Omni Coliseum.

How have the Atlanta Hawks done in the NBA playoffs?

The Hawks did not have a winning season until 1957. But when they broke through, they did it with gusto, winning the NBA finals — the only time they’ve done so.

They lost three other finals in 1956, 1959, and 1960 and haven’t made it to the finals since, even though they’ve had a good record in the playoffs.

In 2021, they lost the Eastern Conference finals 2-4 to the Milwaukee Bucks.

How can I watch the Atlanta Hawks on my phone?

All the major cable-replacement streaming services allow their subscribers to watch channels on their smartphones and other mobile devices. This includes Bally Sports Southeast, where providers Fubo and DIRECTV STREAM supports both Android and iOS devices.

NBA League Pass also supports these devices and pretty much any other transportable device available.

How do I watch the Hawks’ conference rivals?
