The benefit to streaming is that it’s cheaper than your average cable contract. Streaming services also offer features like on-demand libraries and cloud-based DVRs. You’ve already learned about some good options, but we’ve got a few other choices that might work for you. Here are the additional services that you can use to watch the Hawaii Bowl online without cable:
The 2023 Hawaii Bowl football game features the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers of the Sun Belt Conference and the San Jose State Spartans (SJSU) of the Mountain West Conference.
The Chanticleers managed to get third place in the East Division of the SBC and fourth overall with a record of 7-5 (5-3 in-conference) with a five game win streak to gain bowl eligibility. The Spartans were third in the MWC with a 7-5 regular season record (6-2 in-conference). They are better than they look on paper due to a tough early schedule featuring USC and Oregon State.
The Chanticleers football team have all new leadership in their coaching staff this year: Tim Beck (head coach), Travis Trickett (offensive coordinator), and Craig Naivar (defensive coordinator). They’ve managed to hang on to the program Jamey Chadwell built before moving to Liberty this year.
Quarterback Grayson McCall, who declared for the transfer portal, is still out with an injury and it looks like Ethan Vasko, in his freshman year, will lead the offense for the Easypost Hawai’i Bowl. With him will be running backs Braydon Bennett and CJ Beasley, wide receivers Sam Pinckney, Jared Brown, Jameson Tucker, and Kyre Duplessis, and tight end Kendall Karr.
On defense, the Chanticleers have linebackers JT Killen, Shane Bruce, Wyatt Gedeon, and Clinton Anokwuru, defensive backs Matthew McDoom, Juan Powell, Keonte Lusk, Clayton Isbell, and Tobias Fletcher, and linemen Micheal Mason, Will Whitson, and Allen Henry.
The Spartans have an experienced coaching staff with Brent Brennan (head coach), Kevin McGiven (offensive coordinator), and Derrick Odum (defensive coordinator). Over the last six years together, they’ve taken a struggling program and turned it into one of the best in the MWC.
The offense is led by quarterback Chevan Cordeiro with running backs Kairee Robinson and Quali Conley, wide receivers Nick Nash, Charles Ross, and Malikhi Miller, and current tight end Sam Olson.
The defense features linebackers Bryun Parham, Jordan Pollard, and Taniela Latu, defensive backs Jay’Vion Cole, DJ Harvey, Tre Jenkins, and Kenyon Reed, and linemen Tre Smith, Noah Lavulo, Jay Kakiva, and Soane Toia.
After trying a bunch of streaming services, Fubo came out on top for watching the Hawaii Bowl. It’s got ESPN plus a huge lineup of 150+ channels, so I never feel like I’m missing out. The streaming quality is solid – no annoying buffering in the middle of a big play. The 1000-hour cloud DVR is a lifesaver when I can’t watch live, and flipping between channels is easy with the simple interface. It works on pretty much any device I throw at it. Sling TV is cheaper, sure, but it just doesn’t offer the same mix of sports channels and DVR perks. If you want a hassle-free way to stream the game with all the extras, Fubo’s the way to go.
